Vaio Wallpaper

My friend has a Sony Vaio that has as its wallpaper a graphic resembling a flat ocean and horizon. It changes gradually throughout the day to reflect the actual time (i.e. it has a sunrise coloring in the morning, bright blue in the day, and dark at night). Anyway, I’ve searched around for it so I can have it on my non-Sony computer but to no avail. Anyone here know where I could get it? I assume it’s some sort of active desktop thing. Could I copy it from his computer?

Find out the name of the file for the wallpaper, and copy it onto a disk. Then, just add it to the same place on your own system (directory wise).
You might need certain DLLs and whatnot too, so if so, it will usually tell you which ones you are missing when you try to use it.

Its probably just a rotating screen saver program. Might be one at download.com

Also, if you have a All in Wonder video card, you can have a live camera image as the desktop. Just point your camera outside & you have a live display of the sun.

I seem to recall something of this nature on download.com. It was supposably writeen for executives so they didnt lose track of time on their machine.

Ack! I lied…I went and checked it out and it was not a windows program…good luck, though!

I’m fairly sure that it’s an Active Desktop web page that Sony has stashed on the hard drive somewhere.

I just had to set up a VAIO slimptop for the boss at work and while I was generally blown away by the VAIO, I am also unimpressed at Active Desktop.

I found the actual wallpapers here (scroll down to VIAOSCAPE [sic]).

I haven’t tried it out, but from reading the file description it sounds like Sony might be using some proprietary code to make it change times throughout the day:
