well golly, Scotticher, that’s swell. Looking forward to meeting you, too. (Can you bring any of your husbands and wives?)
Sorry, dear.
I would LOVE to bring ALL of them, but they live clear across the country. Funny how that worked out! This way it is never going to be my turn to do the dishes. MomScotti didn’t raise no DUMMY!
But, they will be there in spirit, I am sure.
Scotti
I’ll be talking to jovius this week (very strongly, too!), and will insist that he come. I’ll explain at dinner why his arms will be broken by then, and we can all take turns abusing him.
Bump!
Thai food?
Sunday morning bump
Sunday afternoon bump.
Ooohhh…
I’m doin’ the bump with Bob!
So, does it look like just the three of us, or are we counting on aviddiva and anyone else?
What time are you planning on meeting, and Bob…have you spoken to Niggle?
Inquiring minds want to know!
Scotti
I hope to be back from Whistler by Saturday the 13th, so I and my sore muscles will be there.
And I love Thai food. There are also some great Ethiopian restaurants in town, in particular the Nyala on west fourth. Or is it uncouth to eat with your fingers on a first date?
O.K. Everybody who needs to has seen this, right? (My hip is getting sore.)
As a matter of fact, as I was cleaning my apartment I ran across a brochure for Nyala (IIRC - African anyway) and thought it looked interesting. Does anybody else think that’s a good idea? Please post or mail and I’ll call them.
I talked to jovius (strongly, as I said - explanations later), and he suggests the Fog and Suds, but I think Nyala or something Thai sound like more fun. There’s a nice enough little Thai restaurant around the corner from my place we could go to, and then home to continue.
No, Scotti, I can’t find Niggle’s number. I’ll check his profile and mail him, or you can mail me if you have his number.
And it looks like almost nobody has seen this, aviddiva, or they’re just ignoring me.
I’ll be offline for a few days, but will check back as T approaches. (And I’ll side with you, Bob, against Fogg and Suds. Let’s try something a little more interesting.)
I tracked down Niggle’s email (indirectly - it’s in his resume on his Web page) and sent a personal invitation, with a link to this thread. Here’s hoping!
Personally I like to eat my date with my lips.
Oh, is that not what you meant?
Well, Niggle’s mail doesn’t exist there, so he may miss out unless somebody has his phone number. Scotti?
I am not sure that I still have it, but I will look when I get back on my other account. This one has evilmail, and I doubt that I used it to converse with him.
Scotti
Thanks, Scotti. I haven’t heard from anybody from Seattle, so we may be only five, but I’m still looking forward to it.
Bumping again.
Umm, yea, I’m comming… Reservation’s at Nyala’s probably at around 6:30 pm
Yes, I’m going to make the reservation soon - they don’t open until 5:00.
I’ll aim for Saturday at 6:30, but check here again in case it’s later.
The restaurant is Nyala, 2930 West Fourth Avenue at Bayswater, one block west of MacDonald.
Scotti, I think the highway brings you into Vancouver along Granville Street (Or not. I don’t think I’ve ever come that way. It really doesn’t matter). Keep going north and turn left at Broadway, which would be Ninth Avenue if they hadn’t named it. Watch for MacDonald, go one block further to Bayswater, and turn right about five blocks. (BTW, if you’re in town early, you can give me a call. I’ll mail my phone number to your AOL address.)
