VCO3's rape question

Gee, you’re right! I wish someone had said the exact same thing every other post for three pages!

(Yes, that was sarcasm.)

Couldn’t tell by your oh-so-thoughful use of words.

Who are you, the Pit police? VCO3 is a dipshit. I called him that. So did others. What is your particular dog in this fight?

I dislike redundant posts that add nothing new to a thread that was thoroughly hashed, rehashed, resurrected and buried in soft peat for three months and then recycled as firelighters.

Hell, if I simulpost and it’s not a mildly amusing simulpost, I edit it to delete it. Especially in a Pit thread, there’s a point when it just becomes kicking a man while he’s down. Just poor form.

No “dog” really, just an opinion. Like yours. We both got to air them.

Personally, I’d never call a muffdiver a dyke. It’s just not nice.

Fair enough; you’ve yours and I’ve mine, and we’ve both shared them and now can get on with whatever we like to do.

Fair enough?

When did VC03 “dismiss” the concept of rape? I agree that he didn’t phrase his question very well, but he was only asking for clarification about the definition of rape.

I disagree. His “disengenous request for information” was couched, quite well, in language that attempted to dismiss rape (as in vaginal intercourse through forced means) as a non-existent. It wasn’t innocent, it was trollish, and it was stupid.

I’m not saying that it doesn’t happen, but are there statistics on how many sexual assault cases involved penetration?

As far as the aspect of the OPs question that lead to an explanation concerning the “mechanics” of rape, I’m grateful for the question. A friend of mine was raped a ways back and I though to ask her about this, but it seemed inappropriate. But I was curious as to the the possibility of sexual arousal/“pleasure”. I was even contemplating a thread myself.

That would really not be relevant to VC03’s question though. Rape, in the United States at least, is legally defined as forced penetration. From a legal standpoint, all cases of rape involve forced penetration. Sexual assault covers a broader range of forced sexual contact, from what I understand. Rape is pretty explicit in its definition.

Okay am I the only one but this made me laugh out loud

You aren’t the only one.

Pretty much so, although as you can see below the terminology of criminal sexual offenses varies somewhat from state to state. From http://criminal.findlaw.com/crimes/a-z/sexual_assault.html

Versus:

Finally, an example of state law from the California codes:

The CA penal code goes on to describe where rape can be a crime against a spouse as well in certain circumstances.
