I searched through three pages of threads and found nothing on this show: am I the only one who watched the series premiere?
I am head-over-heels for the cast: Dennis Quaid, Michael Chiklis, Carrie-Ann Moss, etc. (including the guy who played the joyriding garage attendant in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off :D). I think the storyline was decent, too, and I’m looking forward to the second episode.
I watched it. I wasn’t blown away by this pilot, but it kept me interested. (The last pilot that blew me away was last year’s “Touch”.) I’ll probably keep watching another episode or two and if the quality doesn’t decay, I’ll keep watching. Actually, even if it decays slightly, as long as Carrie-Ann Moss keeps wearing those (tight) 60’s fashions, I’ll probably keep watching.
I thought the production values were very good and the acting convincing. The various intersecting story lines were a bit confusing. However, I hope it gets a chance to develop a following as I think it could become a solid show.
I really like the cast, the idea of setting this in “old Vegas” is good - everyone knows how the city is going to grow - and they will be able to slip in some good interiors of casinos, but keep the old west flavor of Vegas back in the day.
My guess is this show will most certainly be renewed for at least another season - and wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes a longer lasting hit show.
Ah, Las Vegas during the sixties, where apparently health nuts went to avoid all the nasty people drinking, smoking, cussing or having sex everywhere else.
I just watched the first episode of Vegas, and it was pretty good. It’s set in 60’s Las Vegas, Quaid is a former MP cowboy sheriff, and Chiklis is a mafia dude from Chicago.
The show was well put together and Chiklis and Quaid both played their roles well; I’m hoping this show might turn into something good. Nothing seemed too over the top, and it wasn’t boring, so I guess we’ll see. Anyone else watching Vegas? Have any thoughts or opinions you’d like to share?
My first question with a new drama series these days is what channel is it on?
If this was put out by HBO or AMC or (maybe) Showtime, I’d be interested in the possibilities. It’s CBS, though. Seems too safe for the subject matter.
I didn’t see the previous thread, the mods can merge them if they like.
I watched the second episode last night. It was pretty decent too. It looks like each episode is going to have a crime of the week, as well as adding to the overall long term narrative arc.
