For those that are going or are tentative, read your email.
In case you haven’t, here’s the deal:
I am proposing having tshirts made for our gathering.
In this I am going to request all that are going to do me a favor, if you want a tshirt, email me and let me know. Also, let me know your size. I will be dealing with the advertising company that my brother works for so you will be offered them at my cost.
Anyhow, I want to see a logo contest, aka, those of us with the artistic ability and the computer graphics ability, design a logo for the tshirts.
The logo will be placed on the left breast of a white tshirt so it can’t be huge and not a lot of colors. (screen printed)
You must use: Vegas Dopefest 2000 in some way.
Submit your entry to my email address above and I will post them on my web site…I will have a voting area where you can pick your favorite.
We have plenty of time to do this so if you are like me and busy as a bee don’t worry if you wait a while…
If you do submit one, the maximum printed size is usually 3 inches wide by 2 inches tall…maybe 3 1/2 and 2 1/2…but that’s pushing it.
Send record of the font you used in case we need to use, and PLEASE keep it legal, don’t borrow anyone elses artwork or even clip art. Don’t get me started on clip art, big lawsuit scare crap…don’t use clip art at all < rolling eyes >
So in addition to “Vegas Dopefest 2000” it must be a max of 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and original artwork with the fonts you used listed in the email.
I may consider having “www.straightdope.com” to put on the back just for grins. Depends on the price too.
Okay, My tentative is a little less tentative now. It looks like I would only need to take off two days, or maybe I could switch with someone. Still can’t promise, but keep me in mind, okay? If I’m able to go (promise to come up with a definite answer by mid-July), I’d be into sharing a room, must bring price down. Are Bay Area Dopers planning on flying or driving, or what? If I fly, I’ll see if I can get some cheapo tix on Priceline, or whatever, but driving probably be cheaper than that, and although I am carless, I’d be happy to chip in on gas.
I hadn’t decided as of yet if I would fly or drive, Kyla. Driving that far has its charms, but I dislike having to find parking spaces in a city intensly.
Parking in Vegas is not an issue, in my experience. All the hotels want people so offer tons of free parking. Driving down the strip around midnight - well, that’s another issue altogether.
