Verizon "Incredible." Any reason not to get this model?

As I said, I have an HTC Eris and I like it a lot. It’s a bottom end android phone but I love it more than any other phone I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to get one of the “big girl” phones (i.e. cooler!) when I upgrade in April. Like the OP, I know iPhones are now available on Verizon and I. just. don’t. care. I’m an Android kinda girl and I always will be.

as far as I know the Incredible switched to an S-LCD screen recently. probably about the same time Verizon started offering BOGO deals on them.

My wife got her Incredible in the mail on Tuesday. Yesterday morning, while I was out shoveling…again (bleh), we took my Droid X and her Incredible out in the sun. I’d heard that the Droid X was better in bright sunlight than the Incredible, and it is, however, we’re talking marginally better. They’re both pretty illegible with sunlight shining directly onto them.

Yep. My wife has an iPod Touch. Last week, when I told her Verizon was getting the iPhone, she said “That’s just a Touch with a phone. No thanks.” I’ve never had an iPhone, so I don’t know if this is accurate, but it’s moot now that she has the Incredible. The Incredible is not as wide or as thick as the Touch which, I’m not sure, but believe has the same dimensions as the iPhone.

It’s funny, I never wanted an iPhone, even at the height of the hype. I don’t know why the iPhone never resonated with me, but there you go. I went from years and years of BlackBerry use straight to the Droid X, and am thrilled I did.

I’ve got the Droid X and sometimes think I should’ve gotten the HTC. Motorola has put a lot of crapware and other stuff on this phone that can’t be turned off and can’t be removed, while, I’m told, that HTC does not.

Maybe an “Incredible” user can verify.

Depends on what you consider crapware, I guess. My wife has the Incredible. It’s still new so we’re both in learning mode but I don’t see that my Droid X has more garbage on it than the Incredible.
