This is for those fans of the show “Veronica Mars”. I’ve been hearing good things about the show all season, but it’s been up against “The Amazing Race” and “House”, so I didn’t really get to watch it. The one time I did check it out (the episode “Ruskie Business”) I liked it. I’ve heard they’re rerunning the show over the summer so I thought I’d take this chance to watch.
I know the summer season is short and I wonder if they’ll show it multiple times a week so they can fit everything in. Sure enough, when I look up my local listings there it in, on both Teusday and Wednesday night. Cool.
But then I notice that the Wed. night show is episode 6. What they hey? If I watch both nights over the summer, am I still going to miss episodes? That would suck. This is a mystery. I want all the clues presented in order. Is there any hope, or am I screwed?
Well, I can’t answer as to your local listings, but you are right: you should definitely watch the shows in order. It won’t make any sense out of order, and you’d lose the enjoyment of watching the story arc unfold. I’d also say it’s absolutely worth trying to watch season 1, in order. It’s an awesome show. Since the season finale of VM was several weeks ago, they may have started with episode 1 the very next week. So maybe you’ll get them in order but miss the first few?
I’ve heard that they’re going to rush out the dvds of season 1 before the second season starts, so you may want to watch out for that. if you’ve got netflix, you could netflix them, or else maybe your local video store would carry them. If you have TiVo, you could just TiVo them in whatever order they’re played, then watch them in the right order.
Another suggestion, I noticed that on the Television Without Pity boards for Veronica Mars, there’s a thread for tape exchanges. I bet many people there would be willing to help you get tapes.
Good luck with this; as I said, the show is definitely worth making an effort for!
I don’t have TiVo but I don’t think it would be much help if they don’t actually show all the episodes. I’m thinking the DVDs are probably the way to go. That’s what the Mrs. and I were originally going to do before we heard they were going to rerun the show over the summer. I don’t know if my local store will cary the disks, but that would be great. Otherwise we’ll have to renew our subscription to Netflix.
I’ve done a little digging and according to to www.neptunesite.com they will be skipping a number of episodes until about midseason. Dammit.
