Very Amusing Thing I Saw Tonight

Tonight I went with some friends to see “The Ring” (Highly scary movie, high likelihood of the girl next to you jumping in to your lap, possibly even if you don’t know her ;))

Anyways, we went to a Regal theater, where they have this theater promo thing that they show before all movies that consists of a computer generated image of a film reel as a roller coaster track- the image moves as though the picture is being taken from a car riding on the film.

Well, as this clip began, a group ran down to the front and sat down where all of their heads could be seen against the picture. They held their arms up on the drops, and leaned in perfect unison into every curve, looking totally like a bobsled team. It was absolutely hilarious. When the clip ended they got up and went back to their seats. It was great!

Seeker, (first off, welcome to the boards) that is beautiful. The idea of doing that on my lonesome popped into my head the second or third time I saw that clip, but to organize a group… chuckalicious.

[sub]Granted, this’d be annoying as hell in a packed house, but on a weekday matinee, when there’s about 15 people in the theater, it’d break me up.[/sub]

Heh heh. That’d crack me up.

But just to grouse, I am so tired of that little clip. Regal Cinema invaded my town and bought out every theatre except an independent “arty” place that has one screen and maybe 2-3 shows per night. No matter where I go I see that damn animation, again and again. And I go to the movies a LOT, since there’s not not much else to do. Thankfully, it’s just short enough that it’s not yet actually driven me over the edge.

That would have made my whole day. Awesome!
