VERY confusing phone spam crap.. advertising for "The Office" dvd

I recieved a message on my cell’s voicemail advertising for the release of the DVD of “The Office” (a show I’ve never seen). An automated voice (I assume its of a character in the show) asking about an application I put in to work at their business. It started out believable. Talking about equal opportunity employment and such… I thought maybe someone had just written down the wrong number. It continued by asking if I was male or female (“Cuz you know how names are these days… You can’t always tell”)… etc. Now a bit :dubious:, to say the least. Really :dubious: when the character asked me not to call back if I was male, as they’re lookng for more females.

Then a quick “Buy ‘The Office’ on DVD on blah blah such and such a day.”

Though my pitting of this… well… odd way to get the word out about your DVD release probably ended up getting them a sale by informing someone who likes the show about it.

Yeah. So I’m pissed off at it.

Someone you know picked you to have the message sent to. The Office: The Complete Series | Television Series Page | DVD, Blu-ray, Digital HD, On Demand, Trailers, Downloads | Universal Pictures Home Entertainment

Ok. I don’t know who that would be in my circle of friends… but they will be in a lot of pain when (not if) I find out who they are.

I got one (I know who sent it to me) and I thought it was hilarious. To each their own, of course.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, it woke me up too.
