Very Mundane & Pointless - Mouse Organ

My first attempt at creating an interactive flash thingy.

The Mouse Organ

(It might take a few moments to load up - I haven’t worked out how to do a loading progress indicator yet…)

Marvelous.

OMG, I love this! You’ve made my happy moment for the day.

Unsure of what you’d meant by “organ” I was a little unsure if I should look. I was dreading a “salad-fingers-esque” bit of heinousness.

But this was cool. I plan on making good use of your mouse organ. But one suggestion: If it is at all possible, you should have the cursor take the shap of a mallet when it passes over a mouse.

Added to my favorites. I have collected mouse stuff for the last 20 years. This is adorable and the look on my dog’s face was priceless. Thank you!

I might do that for the Duck Piano…

Hehe.

Shouldn’t they be singing We will fix it?

Heh, for intellectual property reasons, probably not.

Actually, this Mouse Organ was more inspired by something I saw with chickens on the Muppet Show many years ago. I’d completely forgotten that Monty Python had done a musical mice (with mallets) sketch, and although the Bagpuss mice are totally unforgettable, they’re only coincidentally related to mine.

If you click on a mousie and drag your cursor along the row, all the mice you pass over will motion like they’re singing but make no noise.

I’m having great fun doing the “Close Encounters” tune with the mices.

Yes. The animation is triggered by the mouse state, but the sound is a separate process called by the click (in fact you can click the same mouse twice and you’ll hear overlapping instances of the same note) - I’m looking at how I might be able to fix this within the constraints of the package I used to create it (3D Flash Animator v3.3 that I got free on a magazine cover).
I’d really like the mice to keep their heads up until they’ve finished singing the note…

Your next mission - should you choose to accept it - is the Cat Piano. With realistic kitty action, including squirming, grooming, spitting, and jumping the hell out of there when you least expect it.

Hmmm… a bit gruesome for my liking (although very muppet-esque) - thanks for the link though - I know I’m going to waste a lot of time browsing that site.
