I cannot get Firefox 45.0.1, Win10, Slate and Livefyre to work together. I can get Microsoft edge, Win10, Slate and Livefyre to functionally fair to marginal. With Firefox, usually nothing happens. Nothing. Click on comments, nothing.
Have you seen or heard of this problem? Do you know what to do to diagnose it? The Firefox support forums seem to never address this specifically.
I too have FF 45 (.0.1). I went to Slate and picked an article. It yelled at me for having an ad blocker (AdBlock Plus) so I disabled AdBlock and refreshed. Went to another article and got yelled at again and refreshed again. Finally got ads going (dang, a lot of ads!) and then clicked the maroon comments button. Nothing happened. I looked at the source - the button is merely a link to the #comments anchor, and the #comments anchor did exist in the source. There also was no Javascript error.
I went to look at my version of Firefox and when I did, it started updating itself. Then it told me to restart to get my update. I restarted the browser and it brought up the same page, now in Firefox 45.0.2. I clicked the maroon comment button and now the comments work! They come down from the top of the page in a layover.
I turned the adblocker back on, and refreshed the page, and got yelled at (so, I know it was working) and comments still worked with the adblocker on.
So…do you have 45.0.2? (Three line menu at the top right, then the question mark button at the very bottom of the menu, then “About Firefox” to bring up the version and/or make it check for an update) Looks like an AdBlocker is not a factor (although a Javascript blocker would be a factor)
I suggest clearing your cache and rebooting your computer and if that doesn’t work, then consider it a failure
I just had to update my Firefox on my laptop to 45.0.2 to get the “Watch Now” button on Comedy Central’s website working. A button that previously worked every day for years.
Over on Slate others are beginning to report the problem and blaming it Livefyre. I has always seemed that Livefyre was a fairly sloppy comment manager.
My problem seems resolved. Others are reporting the same. To my knowledge, one at Slate or Livefyre has admitted a problem or announced that it is fixed.
