Very Stupid (But Well-Meaning) "Athiest"

YORKTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - A fanciful picture of the sun with the message “American Athiests Wish You a Very Merry Winter Solstice” has joined a Christmas creche and a Hanukkah menorah on a slice of town property. He misspelled “atheists,” but Chris Morton made his point when he put up the sign Thursday, the first day of winter. Morton won permission from Yorktown officials, who cited a freedom of speech clause in the town code. He erect the sign on a slice of lawn traditionally used for religious displays like the stable depicting Christ’s birth and the Jewish menorah.

—Ok, his heart’s in the right place and I’m glad the sign went up . . . BUT BUY YOURSELF A GODDAM DICTIONARY, YOU MORON! It does NOT make the rest of us “athiests” [sic—sic as a dog] look very good . . .

C’mon, Eve, we all know that you’re more “athi” than almost anyone! That would make you the athiest person around! :wink:

Have a happy Solis Invictus, anyway! {{{Eve}}}

Pagan? Agnostic? Moron? I’ll go with moron.

As Spritle’s friend says, “No sense being stupid if you can’t show it/”

Still, I appreciate his work to remind people of the First Amendment and our freedom to practice (or not practice, as it were) any religion.

OK, something REALLY WIERD is happening here!!

Sorry about the duplication. :o Sure I wanted to post it, but I don’t think it’s insightful enough to post twice!!!

On the other hand, my “woopsie” doupled the reply count!

This reminded me of the banner that was displayed on a local porn shop located at a major intersection:

“Everyone Needs a Little Piece on Earth”

Utterly tasteless, but I laughed my ass off. Still do, just thinking about it.

I guess one should expect “wierd” things in a thread about “athiesm”.

Anyway, am I the only one thinking that the display seems more appropriate for sun-worshippers than atheists?

Hail Ra!

It’s “i” before “e” except after “c” and in words like “weird atheist.”
