CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C., April 3 — Visiting a Marine base that was home to many of the Americans killed so far in the war on Iraq, President Bush on Thursday praised the sacrifice of U.S. troops and vowed that “a vice is closing” on Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. The president was to later meet with the families of several Marines who died in the war.

What vice are they referring to? Gambling, drinking, womanizing… mananizing? And ummm… how is it “closing in” syphilis, veneral warts, liver damage?

Um… I can’t tell if you are joking or not, but I think they mean vice in the sense of

A clamping device, usually consisting of two jaws closed or opened by a screw or lever, used in carpentry or metalworking to hold a piece in position
