Haley makes the most sense. Rubio would also work. Glenn Beck? No, we already have one Ted Cruz. If you’re going to go for a nutty conspiracy theorist, pick Jessie Ventura, at least he’s paper qualified for the Presidency. Bush makes sense only in the sense that there hasn’t been a winning GOP ticket without a Bush since 1976. So if you’re superstitious… Fiorina adds nothing to the ticket and is just not qualified to be President.
Of course since Jindal satied himself, Haley will be token twofer minority running-mate. Sounds just like any other tired cosmopolitan neocon neoliberal Wall Street Journal shill, but has brown skin and a vagina!
Here’s how I see it happening: They’re fast approaching a contentious convention, the Trump and Cruz camps get together and broker a deal. Trump tells Cruz that he polls better than ol’ Teddy against Hillary. “My numbers are so great. They’re just terrific.” So Donald tells Ted that if he agrees to be his running mate and end this delegate fight, he’ll step down in two years and let Ted finish his term. That way Ted can run as an incumbent in 2020, PLUS run for re-election in 2024. Ten whole years of President Cruz!! So then Donald can say he was president, sell some books, without having to do much in the way of being an actual government employee, and Cruz gets to be the longest-serving president since Pope Franklin! What’s not to love (if you happen to swing that way)?!?
Of course, the Decade of Darkness is contingent upon hell freezing over in November. But I still wouldn’t be surprised to see Trump/Cruz signs dotting the landscape this summer.
Can you, however, imagine Donald Trump saying whatever he needs to to get the big prize? Even if it’s a bald-faced lie?
But honestly, I think Trump has no problem putting in the minimum amount of work in order to get the maximum amount of gain for Donald Trump. Two years as president would be enough for him to cash in, and then go back to being America’s Greatest Capitalist Huckster.
Donald Trump would choose a moderate Republican candidate that helps bring his ticket more appeal and wins over those Republican voters who are still on the fence about him. Plus someone who gives him political know how and legitimacy. This in light of how many establishment Republicans are against him. Donald Trump will choose a regular Republican governor, senator or the like.
Putting aside his personal wrangling with Ted cruz, I don’t see them as a ticket. Cruz is just as disliked as Tru,p, so it won’t serve Trump. He will need someone like Chris Christie.
Chris Christie is hated almost as much as Cruz by Republicans these days. He’s hated by New Jerseyans. I think he even hates himself.
If Trump’s going to go with a governor (or ex), he’d be better off with Jindal, who isn’t doing anything productive these days, has the ability to white wash over Trump’s racism since he’s brown and has the name “Jindal,” plus as a bonus he’s batshit insane but can pass as normal enough next to Trump.
