video camera lenses

If any photography experts could help me out with this I would appreciate it.

Is there such thing as a fisheye lens that fits a 46mm video camera lens? I have a JVC camera that isn’t digital. If not, is there anything that would have a similar effect?

AFAIK, you’d have to be able to take the regular lens off and replace it with the fisheye–it isn’t something that just fits on the end of the camera.

As far as whether there is one, I don’t know (probably not, though–see above). Why do you need a fisheye on a video camera, anyway?

There are all types of lenses for real videocameras, with standard differing between manufacturers, just like still cameras. Consimer camcorders generally don’t have removable lenses, though, so you can’t do much.

There are wide-angle converters that attach onto camcorders. There are many 0.42x wide-angle lenses, but very few that are wider. You might try a big store like B and H - on the home page, go to video, then to consumer camcorders, then to “W.A./Tele/Close Up Attachments.”

Thanks for the help. I am using the fisheye for videotaping skateboarding. It makes stairs, ledges, rails, etc. look bigger depending on what angle you get.
