video drivers grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have a Geforce2 GTS card,
I have uninstalled all nvidia drivers,
I have tried to instal 5 different sets of drivers,
every time I get the same message.
"the nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatable with your current hardware. setup will now exit.

windows xp spack 2

it recognises the card for what it is but for whatever reason none of the driver packs will install. any suggestions?

I don’t know what driver pack you’re using, but have you just gone right to the source here?

yes about 90 times, its driving me bonkers

Oops! Check this page: Graphics Cards, Gaming, Laptops, and Virtual Reality from NVIDIA GeForce

No GForce2 GTS, only MX! Near the bottom of the page it says to use the older driver instead: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_71.89.html

I hope that helps

you sir Rock!

they actually installed and everything. still having some issues but at least I can see whats going on.

What kind of issues?

I used to have a GeForce 2 PRO (or was it Ultra?) made by Asus. I know it sounds stupid, but it wouldn’t work correctly with nVidia drivers. It was messing up some resolutions eg 800x600 would look stretched or something like that.

I downloaded drivers from Asus and it worked perfectly. Maybe you could try either finding the original driver CD that came with the video card or download a driver from the OEM’s website.
