Video editing, combine 2 vids to play side by side

I am looking for video editing software that will allow me to edit 2 separate videos into one single side by side for some training videos I filmed, the current play one then the other doesn’t work so hot for my purposes.

I have access to sony vegas, I think its version 8 or so, and of course movie maker. anyone try this or just confirm its possible with one of those?

I’ve had no problem doing this in Vegas…

Load first video into the timeline. Adjust size to display in half the viewing window.
Load second video into the timeline. Adjust size to display in the other half.
Render the result.

Of course, you’ll probable want to remove the audio portion for one or the other.
