I’m playing Kingdom Hearts. Great game, but I’m a little stuck at the moment. I’ve synthesized all 24 items, and now I want to synth the Ultima Weapon. All I need now is some more Mystery Goo. I know you get it every so often from the Purple Mushroom guys, and maybe some of the other mushroom guys. But I’ve been playing & replaying levels over & over & can’t seem to get any more Mystery Goo. Crap, I’m already a level 90 I’ve done so much fighting. Help!
What am I missing or not doing? I’ve been to & locked the keyhole to every world except “End of the World” where I’m holding off the final boss battles until I synthesize the Ultima Weapon.
Crap. Maybe I should have put that in spoilers because it’s a little more then a suggestion. Sorry.
Well, here’s another suggestion. If you continue in a loop around the ship (you can go out of the lower deck - on deck - captain’s room) you will keep refreshing the deck. Every now and then a blue mushroom will appear. Since you’re flying you can use that to help get lots quick hits on the blue mushroom. At certain hit amounts you get a high certainty of getting the goo. But it’s very hard. This one I figured out on my own. After spending too long doing it that way I went and checked gamefaqs for my previous, and easier, suggestion.
Ok, the shrums are mimes and will make certain gestures asking you to cast magic on them. There are six movements. You’ll need to do this to get the more powerful spells. If you want a bigger hint highlight the spoiler box but it would be more fun to figure this out for yourself.
If the mushroom is shivering he is cold, cast fire.
If the mushroom is fanning itself, it’s hot, cast blizzard
If the mushroom stops moving, cast stop
If the mushroom floats, cast gravity
If the mushroom dies, cast cure
If the mushroom spins around, cast aero
more help
You should be able to get all six spells from the 3 locations. The room after the queen of hearts. The camp in the jungle. And the room just before the last fight. They will tell you this is your last chance to save, it’s the room right before that.
Gamefaqs is a great source for all the spoilers you could want for this game. There’s a special page on mushrooms.
Osiris, I did kinda figure a lot of that out for myself. But, I’m still not getting Mystery Goo. All the stuff you mentioned in the spoiler I’ve tried, except casting Aero and keeping those guys afloat is a real pain. Does all that result in getting Mystery Goo? Seems like I defeat these guys & I get nada.
Man, we just started this game on Sunday… and we’re probably going to have to give it back to my roomie tonite.
Anyone got a used copy they want to sell?
I’m having a blast, but do the stars above the different worlds reflect how hard it is? Example: Agrabah has 4 stars, Olympus has 2. Is Olympus easier than Agrabah?
Yes, the stars indicate how “hard” it is. Actually though, it’s more like “this is the order in which you should do the worlds.”
Olympus is a world you keep going back to, depending on what you’ve accomplished elsewhere, so don’t pay attention to the number of stars there. Trust me, Olympus will continue to kick your ass throughout the game. There are more levels there than you realize.
Buy the game! It’s worth it. Better than Mario in my humble not a serious gamer opinion.
Mystery Goo is just a pain in the ass thing to get. Actually I was a bit wrong, if you cast the first three spells the white shrooms ask for there’s a chance you’ll get goo. If you wait till he requests the same spell three times, and successfully casts the spell those three times then you double the chance of getting the goo. Also know that unless you call forth and kill all monsters in a room the next time you come back there is no chance of the shrooms appearing. You have to call forth all monsters, kill all of them, go a few rooms away and then come back in order for there to be a chance of getting the shrooms. This is why my game time went over 160 hours. That and the clock tower. Well, actually a lot was also trying to master the blue shrooms which I never did. Maybe once I got 20 hits but that’s the best I could do.
I know. I was so freaking pissed when I tried to aero them. I mean he did it once, he did it twice and then he never did it a third time. Instead he just up and vanished. If I had a few extra controllers the one I was using would have been pounded into the ground.
I’m not parting with my copt Tristan. Olympus is a completely different type of level then the rest of the game. It starts incredibly easy and by the end of the game has the absolute hardest thing to do in the game. The one thing I haven’t done, along with the blue shrooms. But it’s all fun though, I love this game. Try and sweet talk your roomie.
Oh, be sure to record everything after you beat the last guy so you can watch it a few times, it’s worth it.
Go to your menu screen. Select “journal” & read about what you’ve already done. Some things missing? Ooh, there’s a clue!
Do keep moving forward, but yes, there are times when you might want to go back & check something out again. Of course, you might need some abilities first that you only gain later in the game. Heh, heh. This game is fun!
Prolly one of the funnest game I’ve ever played. Currently at the Hallow’s something…with Malevicent. I already kicked her ass its Ahsem or Riku I’m having probs with.
I went back & got my Thunder Gems first. It seemed I had to get my ingredients in order. Once I got the Thunder Gems, the mushrooms started giving up the mystery goos.
