Nice little "Myst" like game

Vision is a free on-line game in the “escape” genre. You’re trapped in a room with no exit. Everything you need to escape is available - assuming, of course, that you brought your razor sharp intellect. No hints here, but some suggestions. Pencil and paper are almost mandatory. Look everywhere (in, on top, underneath, beside). Objects you find can be examined, sometimes from different angles. They also can (and sometimes must) be used with other objects. They may change properties if you change something in the puzzle. That’s enough for now. It provides a few forehead slapping moments - ones where you quit the game in frustration, go back to work and suddenly realize what you should have done.

I like this puzzle creator. They (or (s)he) also created RGB and Sphere which are quite similar, but I think they hit their stride with Vision. If you have any sort of colorblindness, these games will probably not be for you, as the colors can be clues. Also, as a note to those who play Sphere: It has two endings.

Good luck!

I assume you have also seen Mystery of Time and Space?

Ok…I have the venus flytrap that shows the position of the buttons on the clock, but the damn thing won’t work!

A hint, rather than an answer. Let me know if you want me to be more specific. What else is shown on the bottom of the pot, and what does it look like?

Yeah, I figured I had to match it based on the arrow/hand, but it didn’t work…I kept rotating clockwise until it suddenly clicked. Weird. Finished it up…I had the dang seahorse body facing the wrong direction for about fifteen minutes while I was screaming at the computer.

Very cool. What has two endings?

First thing: this site is a sort of clearing house/repository for links to this kind of games. Some are better than others, and many are in Japanese (since the subgenre was greatly popularized by a Japanese game).

Second thing: I’m completely stuck. I have no idea what to do now. Here is what I have and know now:

I’ve found three shapes (triangle, square, octagon) with numbers associated with them (37, 40, and 62, respectively). I have a headless wooden doll (used the head as a drawer-pull), a green marble, a strange bronze box, a crank, a screwdriver handle, and an odd thing with five pegs that I can push in and reset. All other items (like two pieces of paper, a key, a corkscrew, glass, and champagne bottle) are now gone, since I got their secrets. Is there something I must find that I’m missing? Or do I have to do something with the stuff I have now that I haven’t figured out yet?

Hints only, please!

Is there anything that you can do with the bronze box? Where’s the other half of the screwdriver?

Woo! That first hint is all I needed! (The second I already knew.) And technically, I was helped along by the other spoiler boxed stuff, but otherwise, I made it on my own, after a LOT of trial and error!

Phew!

So just one thing- does everything have a purpose, or are there red herrings?

I’m pretty sure everything you can take has a purpose, but not everything you can move has a purpose.

I only got stuck in one place, and it was more because of my clumsiness than anything else (I clicked on something and nothing happened, but apparently I had just clicked in the wrong spot). That was excellent… except for

Thinking twice I had won only to realize there was more to do! (Not that I minded)When I first got “outside” it took me a couple of minutes to realize the game wasn’t over :smack:

It’s actually RGB, not Sphere (both previous games by the creator of Vision, as mentioned in the OP), that has two endings, IIRC.

Is there some reason I can’t use the

key

:smack: You are correct, of course.

Can you more specific? Where did it come from, and where are you in progress?

I believe that that is correct, although some may still stay in your inventory after their purpose is fulfilled (if I recall correctly).

Yeah, so I wasted my day today. First Vision, then Sphere, then RGB, then on to Mystery of Time and Space (which, by the way, is excellent).

There’s a commercial title called Safecracker (the newer version) that is very much along the lines of locked door puzzles. Almost no storyline, but absolutely fun and great puzzles.

Ok, I need a hint.

I’ve gotten to the point where I have the frog statue shooting the light beam to the clock. But I can’t do anything else. There are 2 drawers I haven’t been able to open yet either.

The problem I was having seems to be platform specific. I was not able to use the item using a macbook. Switching to a pc based computer resolved the problem. Grrrrrr over wasted time. :smack:

sinjin

Take a closer look at the clock. Is there more you can do?

I’ve already gotten the screwdriver piece off. I see the place where the light beam is hitting and it looks like something might go in there, but I don;t have any pieces that work.
