Moogles first appeared in Final Fantasy Adventure, if i remember correctly. This was actually part of the Seiken Densetsu series (Secret of Mana) so they should qualify.
Cid is in fact in FFXI. He’s the Chief Engineer of Bastok and inventor of the airships.
Ding! That’s the one.
They actually first appeared in FFIIIj, which was a year before Seiken Densetsu in Japan, but only recently officially released in NA, which is presumably where the confusion (and my decade-long incorrect belief) comes in.
“Super Tecmo Bo Jackson” was the answer the judges were looking for
Fascinating thread. Of course, no way in hell am I going to know the answers for any of these, so for a change of pace, I’m going to add some arcade questions. Beware, you’ll have to dig deep for some of these.
A1) What does Kenta Nakamura have that no one else does?
A2) Of all the King of Fighters bosses, what have exactly three of them not done (and one of the three not done twice)?
A3) What’s special about Ryoko and Hanzo, as opposed to Julia, Alex, Goro, Jubei, Christie, Hayato, Dio, etc.?
A4) A fighting game, one of a long-running and immensely popular series, is infamous for a simple four-word statement that immediately sparked a major outcry…and an even greater one a few months later when it was proven false. What was the statement?
A5) In Ghosts ‘n Goblins, what happens if you clear the 6th stage with a weapon other than the shield?
A6) What is Solomon’s Key, and what are you supposed to do with it?
A7) The ones that always say something, don’t shoot. The ones that often say something, shoot. The ones that never say anything, shoot, and also shoot whatever’s flying at you. That jerk who laughs and laughs, stop shooting him and get the real target. What game is this?
A8) “I yield not!” Who said it, when did he say it, and why hasn’t anyone else ever said it?
A9) Hit by a falling billboard, zapped by an electric sign, hit by a dropping crate, squashed flat by a door, run over by a motorcycle, and run over by a steamroller. Which is the worst?
A10) Give the first location in this series: ____, Chicago, St. Paul, Boston, Denver, La Crosse, South Bend, St. Louis, Wichita, Cincinnati, Battle Creek, Bangor, Memphis, Bismarck, Pittsburgh, Cheyenne, Orange County, Little Rock, Lincoln, Rapid City, Hartford, Charleston, Richmond, Baton Rouge, Bowling Green, Concord, Providence, Billings, Seattle, Jackson, Clearwater, Atlanta, Fort Worth, Montpelier, Salem, Boise, Buffalo, Salt Lake City, Tulsa, Raleigh, Columbia, Las Vegas, Maui, Jersey City, Washington, Davenport, Ottawa, Baltimore, Phoenix, Juneau, Santa Fe, Birmingham.
A11) Which Time Crisis boss is also the name of a very bloody action game released many years ago by a completely unrelated company? Hint: It went by more than one name.
A12) HOW MANY MARBLES DO YOU GET?? (A number! No other answers are acceptable!)
A13) [A really tough one…yes, even more than “How many marbles do you get?”]
- If you kill him, the result is the glorious reign of your virtuous emperor…at least until that idiot son takes over and ruins everything.
- If you take him alive, the result is your chief strategist’s original master plan.
- If he escapes, the result is what really happened (more or less).
Who is he?
You have to start the level over again.
Damn, DKW, I should know some of those, especially 2-4, but those are some hard questions.
This name is incredibly familiar, but I don’t remember where from. Would it be possible for you to spoiler the answer to this one for me?
I don’t recognise all the name on that list, but enough for a guess of; they didn’t start off as just palette-swap characters?
Only Time Crisis boss I can remember is Wild Dog, so i’ll guess that.
Peoria?
Isn’t that the list of cities you build when you’re the Americans in Civilization? The first would probably be Washington DC.
Sorry. I reread the question. I are dumb.
What the hell, I’ll stab at a couple.
I want to say died, but I don’t believe that’s correct. Destroyed Southtown, maybe?
I should know this, I once administered for a Capcom/SNK community. I’m such a failure.
Just guessing, because I don’t know most of these characters, but they’re the only ones based on real people?
I’m guessing (completely guessing) that the list of cities is the list of stage from Rampage, but I don’t know the first city.
Jubei was certainly real.
That would be the aforementioned Peoria.
In the NES version, you had to go back not just one level, but all the way to level 3 iirc. Don’t know about the arcade.
[/QUOTE]
Gosh. The memories just flood back, don’t they?
Wait, what? I could have sworn Rampage started (and ended) in California.
Nope. Peoria.
Only reason I knew of the city when I was 8.
Ah, I just realized the discrepancy. I only know of Rampage from the NES; guess the arcade version had a different city order.
