Video shows Sean Combs beating the shit out of Cassie Ventura

A statute of limitations exists to protect the rights of people charged with a crime. After a certain period of time, it becomes difficult to defend yourself beause evidence is lost, memories fade, witnesses might be unavailable, etc., etc. This all varies from state-to-state of course, and some crimes such as murder don’t have any limitations on time to prosecute. We can quibble about how long the limitations should be, but I’m not entirely against the concept.

When the story first broke I mixed up Cassie with Jesse.

I don’t think he could have thrown Jesse around like a rag doll.

I do appreciate his apology. He is disgusted with himself and is not asking for forgiveness. At least he didn’t deny it or claim she made him do it or some nonsense like that.

It’s not my place to offer forgiveness, but he may be redeemable with work and in other ways. He could use some of his money to found a charity for abused women or an organization that teaches men not to treat anyone like that, especially women they ‘love’.

Nope. He flat out denied, denied, denied this ever happened. Ever.

Not until the video surfaced did he accept he was exposed.

In his blatantly self serving response, he never addressed how vehemently he denied this ever happened.

He’s only sorry the video turned up. That not accountability. And the apology was clearly self serving and lightyears from sincere.

Well, I never said it was accountability and I had never heard a previous denial, but I was specifically talking about within the apology video that I saw.

I have watched police shows where someone denies the person in the video is them when it clearly is, so I guess that’s sort of what was in my mind when I said that.

P Diddy has been a well-known piece of shit since the 2000’s, but nothing ever seemed to stick. Years before this incident he (allegedly) car-bombed Kid Cudi, a very famous and well-connected rapper, because he was seeing Ventura. I suspect she rightly believed that filing a complaint against him would be very dangerous to her health.

Also known as the Shaggy defense:

Is this the only thread discussing Sean Combs on the board?
I checked the evil and stupid mfers im the news thread, and could find no mention of Diddy, but those threads are long. I could have missed something.
Do we know Combs house was raided a couple months ago? I believe one of his sons was arrested.
Do the posters here know that there have been major tabloid stories revolving around Puff for a few months now? Tabloid stories, yes, but too many to ignore.
Like, if 10 percent of this stuff is true, then we’re talking Epstein level shit.
Allegedly, major hip-hop stars and other celebrities are coming forward, claiming sexual abuse from Combs or his people.

Ok, i see it was mentioned above.
I don’t venture into tabloid stuff too much, but a lot of people around me are talking about this stuff. It’s starting to look like Combs was running a pedophile ring.

Not only did he apologize, but he accepted full responsibility.
What a prince!

That’s why there are allegations of sex trafficking being made of late.

I haven’t been watching the news but have heard she’s testified of his assaults of her in court this week. Apparently it’s the news header for NBC and others as well. I don’t want to watch the bites but feel led to and donate to the local resource center as well.

TMZ has quite a bit of coverage on their site about the trial. They’ve been detailing what’s been happening in the courtroom and posting some of the videos that have been shown. Right now, at the top of their page, they have an article with the full 15 minute version of the video from the hotel hallway.
Here’s the first few that I found…

That is 100% true. He should not be judged for his sexual preferences.

He should be judged for the actions he took to partake in those proclivities.

I believe he is truly sorry … that he got caught!!

Rember Andy Williams’ wife convicted of murder, and judge said she’s too delicate to serve time in jail?

She was not convicted of murder, it was negligent homicide.

That did not happen.

District Judge George Lohr, moved by Miss Longet’s plea, expressed compassion for her and her family but said he felt releasing her with no jail time “might undermine respect for the law”.

And funny enough, this quote from the article seems relevant almost 50 years later:

The judge, noting he had received considerable mail from around the country about the case, said he was stunned at how many were unaware that Miss Longet was not charged with intentionally killing Sabich.

He indicated many Americans believe Miss Longet guilty of murder.
