Videos starring famous people

A few come to mind:

Remember the time: Eddie Murphy/Magic Johnson.

Crazy: Alicia and Liv.

Mary Jane’s last dance: Kim Basinger.

(You Drive Me) Crazy: Melissa Joan Hart.

Jam: His Royal Airness.

Bad: Wesley Snipes.

I believe that Ian McKellan appeared in a Pet Shop Boys video. I am not sure, though.

Rules

Soundtracks don’t count if the mentioned celebrity appears ONLY on scenes extracted from the movie. Thus “(You Drive Me) Crazy” is accepted but “I’ll Disappear” isn’t.

Collaborations between performers don’t count either (for example Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey’s rendition of “Endless Love”), since both artists are performing and thus do not enjoy the status of celebrity invitees.

Let the video madness begin…

Sarah Michelle Gellar’s in the new Stone Temple Pilots vidoe, which I can’t remember the name of.

LL Cool J is in Sisquo’s “Thong Song” video, but he’s not wearing a thong so you might miss him.

I’m sure there a zillion others, but I can’t remember them now.

Jennifer Jason Leigh was in the video for Faith No More’s “Last Cup of Sorrow.”

Naoimi Campbell was in another of Michael Jackson’s videos, don’t know if that one counts.

Bill Paxton was in the video for “Fish Heads.”

I thought the best performance by a real actor in a music video was Danny Aiello in Madonna’s “Poppa Don’t Preach”.

Aresenio Hall was in a Paula Abdul video.
A buncha models were in a George Michael video (“Freedom”?).
Captain Lou Albano was in Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”

Do these even count as celebrities?

Gheorge Muresan was in Eminem’s “My Name Is”

Weird Al Yankovic was in (and directed) the video for one of Hanson’s songs off their first album.

Stuart Scott (from Sportscenter) appeared in the video for “Raise The Roof” by some nameless Rap group.

Arnold Schwartzenneger appeared in Whatever the Hell Gun’s & Roses’ Video From Terminator 2 was Called.

Courtney Cox was featured in Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” (And spoiled a perfectly good song).

For the strange: Milton Berle in Ratt’s “Round and Round”

One of Graham Chapman’s last filmed performances was in Iron Maiden’s Can I Play With Madness film clip.

I can’t remember the Group, but Claire Danes was in a video in which she played the ugly girl with the mishappen back who sprouted angelic wings at the prom.

Vanessa Marcil: Prince, ‘The Most Beautiful Girl in the World’

Ru Paul: B-52’s, ‘Love Shack’

Didn’t I hear that Dennis Franz is “Earl” in the Dixie Chicks video?

Bon Jovi’s “Always”: Keri Russell, back when she used to be HOT.

The Real Slim Shady: Fred Durst.

Pauly Shore appeared in a Limp Bizkit video, don’t remember which, though.

Yeah, Dennis Franz is Earl in the Chicks video.

Kid Rock appears in a new Hank Williams Jr video, I don’t believe he’s performing, just being there.

Joey Lawrence was in the video for Clint Black’s song “Summer’s Coming”, this was back when he was on “Blossom” and counted as famous I suppose. There were a couple other famous people in that video. Memory fails me.

Oh, yeah. I remember that was the first time I was aware of Aiello. Damn fine use of a great character actor.

The most stars I’ve seen in single video (except, perhaps “We are the World”) has got to be “Ghostbusters” by… um… Whatever his name is.

Paulina Porizkova – “Drive” – The Cars
Stephanie Seymour – “November Rain” – Guns and Roses
Jamie Gertz – “Stick Around” (I think) – Julian Lennon
Goran Visnjic – “Power of Love” (?) – Madonna
Helena Christensen – “Wicked Game” – Chris Isaak

Nobody’s mentioned Johnny Depp in “Rebel without a Clue”?

Ralph Nader is in a Rage Against the Machine video. Sure, you can say Bush and Gore are in it more often and and it’s just a clip of a speech, but he does mention it in his press releases.

Ray Parker, Jr.

I’ll never forget my former co-worker with the same name, sans the Jr.

The group was Soul Asylum, the song was “Just Like Anyone” off the album Let Your Dim Light Shine.

Dee (from What’s Happenin’) was in Public Enemy’s ‘Fight the Power’…maybe she’s not really famous, but I always thought it was funny every time I saw that video.

Keanu (sp?) Reeves was in one of Paula Abdul’s videos; I think the name of it was Rush.

The Rock (that wrestler with the weird arching eyebrows) is in a new video with Wyclef Jean (he also ‘sings’ the chorus)

BTW, the GhostBuster’s theme song was done by Bobby Brown.
