Viewpoint Media Player?

Windows XP Service pack 2, all security updates done. Browser of choice is Firefox 1.5.0.3
I Have a popup in the corner of my screen that says:

The problem here is I don’t to the best of my knowledge have a Viewpoint Media Player and needless to say I am a little goosey about clicking the update button. Clicking the more info button I see:

The toolbar if free and collects no personal information. If you decide not to use the toolbar, uninstalling is quite simple

Call me a cynic but I am having a hard time trusting the four out of five dentists statement, and the no personal information.
So does anybody know just what this program is, and why it shows up on my machine? I am behind a router, use the Windows Firewall, and have Ad-aware, Spybot, and Windows Defender. When I get done here, I will run all of these to check for problems.

Do you have AIM? I think Viewpoint is installed along with it.
