Okay, I heard this rumor last night, and it smells of BS to me (after all, wasn’t he putting his penis in Mariah Carey for a while?), but I’d like to know what the source of the rumor (if any) is. In the meantime, I can’t get the image of him and Kevin Spacey in a live action version of *The Ambiguously Gay Duo* out of my head.

None at all, but given his unwillingness (and rightly so, IMHO) to discuss his ethnic background, I find it hard to believe that he’d just come out and say that he was gay (which is supposedly what happened).
He played a couple of gay characters in independent pieces before Boiler Room. I don’t know what, if anything, that signifies, though.
Why is he reluctant to discuss his ethnic background (and why is it understandable)?
I read that he didn’t want his ethnic background to type cast him as the “black” guy or the “Italian” guy or the “Latino” guy. Supposedly, he likes the fact that he can play multiple ethnic roles in movies.
I heard he also shaves his head for the same reasons.
As for the gay thing, Kevin Smith “outed” him in his Arena column.

I’ve been tipped off by several credible sources that the up-and-coming (some would say, already there) macho action star who looks like he’s all about the pussy is apparently really, really gay. In the constantly shifting terrain of sexual identity that even non-Hollywood America finds itself grappling with, though, that’s hardly shocking. Surprising, yes - considering this is a guy who’s probably got every 15-20-year-old girl (hell, even their mothers) salivating over the thought of having the dude’s huge biceps crushing their midriffs as he works their nipples while going down on them.
I have no idea whether it’s true or not, but the OP was asking about the source of the story so it seems Kevin Smith is partly responsible.

We could make this same argument against any request for information: What is the etymology of “The cat is out of the bag”? “It is just a phraze, what difference will it make?” It isn’t wrong to ask for information, nor does it imply judgement.

I guess I automatically go into a self-defence stance when topics like these are brought up, 'cause I’ve only had negative experiences with them. I would suppose the regs here are more mature than that, though.
By the way, most people with just minimal education on the subject will not agree that sexuality is a preference. Most would say it is an inborn orientation.
Couldn’t that description just as easily fit The Rock or Owen Wilson? Vin Diesel is no logner up-and-coming. He’s more came and went.
In any event, what’t eh point of specualting on a celebrity’s sexuality? It’s not likely that any regular gay guys would ever get to sleep with Vin Diesel if he were gay, anyway.

This question has been floating on the internet for years. I used to be a member of a (now defunct) MB that a troll started up a thread on, stating that Vin Diesel was gay. Somewhere in among the hysterical, incoherent, teenagers screaming two people posted sensible comments, one said that Vin had appeared on the Rosie O’Donnell show [before he became ‘famous’] and was asked “are you gay?” to whit he responded “no”. Since then he has become famous and his ‘people’ have advised him not to answer the question because saying a definite yes or no would alienate a large portion of his possible audience …
The other poster was a woman from NYC who says she grew up on the same block as Vin and is still in contact with him now [OK then, this was about 3 years ago] and he very definitely is NOT gay, but that he was persuaded by Hollywood to appear ambiguous on the subject in order to attract as large an audience as possible…
I wonder if that’s the truth. From some of the movies I’ve seen, it kinda looks like he had male pattern baldness. I suspected that was the reason for the shorn skull.
I’ve heard the gay rumors for a few years now, but since I don’t plan to sleep with him, I’ve never paid much attention to it. He is a rather lovely view, though.
Lol. I got a friend who’s a freakish double for Vin Diesel, except he’s more muscular. And he wants to get into adult films. This should encourage him, I think.
Maybe I read IMDb to much, but these type of statements from people claiming to be the said actors friend/cousin/neighbour/schoolmate/gynecologist/et cetera reek of the hysterical teenage girl you talked about before.
Personally I believe nobody on any message board these days who enters a thread about a said actor stating they know the actor or even bumped into him or her and had a long conversation with him. In fact, I tend to start believing the opposite just to spite all the 13 year old fangirls out there.
