As we all know by now, after he shot the poor girl in the dorm (Emily Hilscher) and the RA (Ryan Clark) who may have been trying to intercede, Cho took almost two hours to go back to his room, collate various letters, pics, and videos, and then mail them to NBC News.
From what I’ve read and understand about the events, the primary victim in this whole nightmare was Emily Hischler. Ryan Clark was was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
My point in giving this bit of background is that the shootings in the Norris building were obviously quite separate from the initial murders in their timing and location, and, it seems, as well, their “rationale”.
Please look at this horrifying photograph (horrifying because so many of those very bullets were shattering skulls and devastating brains shortly after the picture was taken). Then, count the bullets. Then remember the number of victims at Norris Hall.
Just a coincidence? Probably. But, you wonder. Or at least I do.
Chances of this specific coincidence may be low, but the chances of this type of coincidence happening is very high. For example, if the number of bullets in the photo had been 31, 32 or 33, I think you’d have called it an eerie coincidence too.
Considering how many students had arbitary injuries (i.e. shot once in the buttocks, once in the shoulder & once in the leg) I would have to rule this a coincidence, unless one posits that the shooter purposely inflicted those injuries on some students, and then only wanted some of his victims dead.
Well, this picture helps confirm my suspicion that he was using hollow point bullets. I’m not sure about the significance of that (except it left little of his face behind for ID when he shot himself.) Shooting someone with a hollow point, anywhere on their body, is going to leave serious injuries - it’s just one more cruelty in this horrifying atrocity, to randomly shoot strangers in the limbs with a debilitating weapon.
