Just installed Visual Studio .NET on my computer (XP) and am trying to start a new project. Can’t because Internet Information Services isn’t present. Followed the instructions to go to Add/Remove Windows Components to try to add IIS, but IIS wasn’t in the list of available components. What do I do?
Make that XP Home Edition. So, is IIS not supported for X effing P Home Edition?? What can I do, if anything?
IIS only runs on Windows XP Professional. I recommend that you upgrade.
If you’re the adventurous sort, you could also try to install IIS on XP Home, although I can’t vouch for it…I’ve never tried it.
