Visual Trivia 2004!

Hello all! Once again, I am coming to you for help in identifying numerous visual trivia, in preparation for an upcoming trivia contest. I have posted the trivia here. It looks too small to see, but if you copy and paste it into a paint program, it is much easier to see. The theme this year is Minnesota, so some (but not necessarily all) of the pictures can be related to that great state. If you recognize any of them, please feel free to share the knowledge. Thanks again!

Note to moderator: I comtemplated which forum to put this in, and decided that there are factual answers to this (Who is this woman? Where is this giant man? etc…). If I made an error, please accept my apology and move my thread to the correct forum. Thanks!

#14 appears to be a Subaru 360.

#1 & 2 refer to “Ma” Barker – a famous gangster who hid out in St. Paul. I think she and her gang kidnapped a Minnesota (pronounced minn-E-so-TA) banker.

We have a resident cynic from Minnesota who should be along during regular visiting hours to answer your questions.

Zoe- could you elaborate, please? #1 and 2 appears to me to be an old baseball card and an illustration… I’m not exactly getting the “Ma” Barker connection. Care to straighten things out for me? Thanks.

Ok, these may be way off base, but here goes. To me, #1, as you said appears to be a baseball player. # 2 is a sketch of a WWI Doughboy.

4 looks like a Norman Rockwell .

I don’t know how it ties in, but in #5, she has on a Leonard Skynard shirt.
#6 could be a motto/logo from a WWII fighter plane. OR it could be Daffy Duck when he was a duckling

10 is a fire eater # 14 is an old Austin Mini

15 I think is a family from the cartoon Non Sequitur

That’s all I knows, I don’t knows no more.
Good luck
I cleaned the pictures up in Photoshop. If you want, I could e-mail the dressup up ones… Just e-mail me to let me know.

I’d help, but you’ve exceed the Geocities bandwidth for the day. Is there somewhere else you could post the picture that doesn’t have bandwidth restrictions?

Thanks to those who have replied so far- I posted the pictures again at
http://groups.msn.com/VisualTrivia2004/shoebox.msnw, hopefully that will work out better. I agree that #6 is some sort of insignia from WWII, and that #2 is from WWI (it reminded me of the cover to All Quiet on the Western Front). I’ve actually found the city and statue in which the JFK statue in #18 resides. After looking up a Subaro 360, it appears to match #14. Thanks for the searching!
