Who does this recent Jeopardy! contestant remind you of?

Go to Jeopardy’s Winners Circle for a picture and video of Glenn Sullivan from Lexington, VA who was a contestant on and around November 18, 2011.

There’s a cartoon character that could have been modeled on him and I can’t remember the character or the show it’s from.

Any help?

Yogi Bear?

I couldn’t come up with an answer before reading this, but having seen tdn’s post, I have to agree that he resembles Yogi.

He looks a little bit like a Family Guy drawing. (or Craig Ferguson’s brother)

Yeah I thought Family Guy too. Maybe even Quagmire without the chin.

Those are all close to what I’ve been seeing in my mind’s eye, but there’s another one I’m sure I’ve seen that’s even closer. I have this feeling it’s one of those meme faces that’s been around a while.

Is there a Mario Bros. figure like that?

ETA: links to pictures would be a great help if you think of somebody close.

Yeah, there’s another cartoon character that’s even closer, but I can’t think of who it is.

Hanna Barbera? 1960s?

He sort of looks like adult Bam Bam but that’s not it.

He gets his hair cut wherever Fred Flintstone goes.

He definitely lives in Bedrock.

Still photo reminds me a bit of Professor Utonium?

Even better, the father from Dennis the Menace, cartoon or live action.

Okay. I know before showing this that it’s not the one I’m thinking of, but if you go to picture #17 at The Faces Behind the voices of Cartoon Characters and see how Jonathan Katz as Dr. Katz has been done as artwork, perhaps you can see the sort of facial transformation I’m seeing in our Jeopardy! guy.

If I could just make that connection! :dubious:

He looks like Taylor Hicks, who’s almost a cartoon himself

Not bad. I can see some of that.

I’m more than 90% sure what I have seen is a cartoon sort of thing, though.

Honda’s Mr. Opportunity?

Not the one I was seeing, but thanks for the try.

Good guess but I don’t think that’s it. I’m really betting that it’s from the 60s.

I was sensing a Hanna Barbera sort of thing myself, but every character I have thought to Google has been too far afield.

I’m beginning to wonder if maybe the cartoon figure I’m visualizing may be from a commercial or a print ad or something along those lines. That cause any shifts in your mind perhaps?

No, I’m still thinking of Saturday mornings.

George Jetson crossed my mind but that’s not it either.

I don’t know about a cartoon character, but the first reaction I had was Jerry Lewis.

I can see a little of that, too.

In my mind the missing image is still, not animated, and in 3/4 view (as opposed to full face or profile). And most likely there would be a caption under the image along the lines of those demotivational things.
