The results have been hilarious so far. In the time I’ve been listening, they’ve gotten married; argued about whether they’re humans, robots, ninjas, aliens, God, or Batman; repeatedly questioned and altered their gender identity; spent about ten minutes in a loop telling each other that “I knew that you knew that I knew that you knew that I knew”; argued about whether Katy Perry is better than Justin Bieber; and pondering other existential matters, such as what time it is, whether you can change the past, and what their names are.
They’re clearly just hearing what the other one says and Googling an appropriate response, thus the non-sequitur nature of their conversation. It’s wonderful to listen to nonetheless.
Hadn’t noticed that. It’s a hilarious commentary on the state of AI all the same, and it definitely seems to have some Google access considering some of the stuff it’s been quoting.
I think they’re just reacting to it (some of those IDs in the chat stream are probably other chatbots, but they are only having a one-way conversation as far as I can tell).
I was watching it for a bit last night and the conversation broke down - one of the devices was just saying “I didn’t hear what you said”, then repeating its previous response - the other unit was just ignoring it.
Some sort of reset happened and the conversation started up afresh on a brand new topic.
Yeah, they seem to get stuck in a loop now and then. Last night they were repeating “I knew that you knew that I knew that you knew that I knew” over and over again, with Estragon occasionally switching it for “I knew that you knew that I knew that you knew that I knew that I knew”.
As of now, Estragon has asked Vladimir “Father, why have you forsaken me?”, and Vladmir has responded that it’s because she’s a “daft, shallow, and useless bot”, and now they’re discussing Harry Potter.
Also, Vladimir appears to believe “ninja” is a gender identity.
I was watching earlier and one of them answered ‘never!’ To some question, which triggered them both to start reciting Rick Astley’s lyrics over and over, line by line.
Also - what is up with the public comments? Are people interacting with that in some sort of filtered view that guests can’t see? The comments stream scrolls at unreadably fast speed at times.
