I think it went slightly to Cheney, but only the firmly decided watched it to that point. The undecided turned it to the Cartoon Network after 5 minutes.

I dunno. I was prepared for a Dole-esque snarl from Cheney, like “Stop lying about my record” <thunderclaps>. Didn’t get that. But Edwards held his own, while IMO parroting a few more soundbites than Cheney, who often seemed more spontaneous even as he droned.
Still on CSPAN-2–see the guys shake Gwen’s hand, and she does the arm-squeeze thing. Adorable tow-headed son hoisted, cute widdle girl waving. Cheneys look cute enough too. Don’t see lezzie daughter, but she does have a life. Cheney going out of his way to talk nicely to plump and pretty Elizabeth Edwards. Aww, Edwards introducing the VP to varioius Edwardians.
Look at me, America! I have KIDS! Cute little blonde KIDS! And they’re probably not homosexuals!

Ok, so there it was…will it matter at all?? My opinion…won’t make a bit of difference. The partisans (you still here DtC) are sold already. The ‘undecided voters’…are still going to be undecided.
Only the presidential debates matter…if even they matter that much.

So much build up for so little. If it wasn’t for the MST3K style debate thread, I would’ve gone to TNT to watch a law and order rerun.
I don’t think that this will have any impact at all on anything in particular. All in all, kind of a waste.

I think it’s obvious to the American people that Edwards was ducking the whole lapel-pin issue. This isn’t going to play well with the ‘we like to know what lapel pin that is’ crowd.

Being the total bastard that I am, I was really hoping it would get a lot nastier. All in all, it was pretty tame.
I don’t know about where you live, but here they have daily programs on PBS called GED on TV. They probably didn’t have that show back then, but there may have been something like it, educational for adults.
That’s about where I come out. Cheney was pretty slimy…Kerry and Edwards point out that the “coalition” wasn’t a very balanced one with us paying 90% of costs and causalties. So, Cheney says, “Your not counting the Iraqis…That is demeaning to them.” Well, that’s because we are talking about the coalition that went in there…not because we are demeaning them. I wish Edwards had jumped on him more on that.
