Waaaaaah! Somebody bought beer for my underaged sister!

Yeah. So my little sister got hit on at a bar. And was bought drinks. And yeah, she isn’t of age.

I’m divided between being horrified that she was being served and being DARK GREEN JEALOUS because I’ve never been hit on in a bar. I’m even legal.

sniff

Excuse me, I’m having a very ‘I’m not pretty’ moment.

Why are you horrified that she’s being served? You ladies have an advantage that us guys don’t. Probably the best way for gals to drink underage is to flirt a little with some guy and he’ll buy the drinks. Everything that occurs at a bar is to the gals advantage, starting at the door where underage girls are granted admittance without having ID checked because the doorman knows there aren’t enough girls inside that night. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

back when I was in my band, 8 of us, the four guys in the band & our respective significant others went out to Hard Times Cafe to eat. 7 of us were over 21, and our bass player Steve’s girlfriend Pam was not.

So, when the time comes to get drinks 8 of us ask for beer, but only 7 of us get carded. Guess who didn’t?

That’s right, Pam.

It’s pretty funny looking back on it, but the 7 of us were REALLY pissed off about it at the time.

Think about it this way-she perhaps looks older than she is?

It won’t be fun later on. I look a lot younger than I am (I’m going to be 24 in a couple of weeks, and I’ve been told I look as young as 17.)

Everyone tells me that’s a good thing.

Hey Magicly Delicious

How you doin?

I’ve never been carded. Hell, I don’t even have a card.

Never been carded, ever. It’s not like I look that ancient, either.

Notwithstanding the younger drinkign age, pubs in the UK aren’t as stringent about age checking as US bars are. In my case, it also helped that I was a tall and grungey/gothy teen who drank Guinness - bar staff probably assumed I was a University student rather than a school sixth former.

I STILL get carded.

I used to get annoyed. Now I just gloat.
