There are rumored reports (being denied by some) that the Taliban have Bin-laden in detainment.
What would happen if the Taliban executed Bin-laden and his associates pre-emptively…OR if Bin-laden and his close associates committed suicide to avoid either deportation, or death by Americans?
Would the U.S. still target directly Afghanistan (and perhaps other countries, if they were suspected as playing supportive roles)?
I didn’t mean to be offensive…I certainly feel that the U.S. needs to exact justice for the terrorist act. That would include military reponses, and criminal justice if appropriate.
The title refers to a sense i have that America may want to deliver “justice” directly…and the possibility that direct justice may not be possible for some of the principal parties.
I am very afraid that no military action will be taken by the US. Many have stated (both directly and indirectly) that this sort of terrorism is better accepted and expected than dealt with. Bush and our gov’t may be waiting for the emotional response to die down so that the paltry retaliation we do muster does nothing to stop and dissuade future terrorist acts on freedom-loving peoples.
Getting back to the OP: If bin Laden kills himself and others responsible do too, we may not get “our pound of flesh”.
Are you sure they know who did it? I mean you can’t just go around shooting people hoping you got the person who did it.
Maybe Bin-laden did it maybe not, didn’t he say he didn’t do it? He is also not in confinement according to today’s news.
Did you see him on the news? Well, you’d think they would capture him when he is in front of the camera but doesn’t look like it to me.
There is a lot of emotional confusion & in time it’ll get sorted out. At least Bush isn’t blowing every country out of the water. If Bin-laden did it, then of course the USA should take some action but if he didn’t do it & they take action, then the real people who did it could strike again.
