I just gained a waist size due to medication (I went too big to be comfortable). While watching a movie, I tend to wonder what waist size some of the characters are.
For instance:
Was Indiana Jones a size 36?
How about Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby in their '40s films: size 30?
Or Steve McQueen in say, The Sand Pebbles (must be under 30" there)?
Anyone want to guess?
I doubt Indie was a 36. Harrison Ford is about 6 feet tall and he seemed pretty slim in his prime…I would guess no more than a 34.
um… 32 and under is really skinny for a 6 footer. indy was pretty strapping, and not john basedow-fit. either 34 or 36 is reasonable imo.
I’d love to know. I’m 5’10" (maybe a bit more) and at my skinniest, after getting braces and eating soup everyday and working out every night, I was still a comfortable 34, and maybe 150 pounds.
Astaire was a size 29 at the height of his career. He wasn’t a very big guy, only 5’7" with a weight of 135 pounds. Crosby was also around 5’7" although he occasionally claimed to be taller. 29 or 30 would probably be about right for him too.
I am 5’10" and while I am in good shape, I am 44 years old and probably never going to have a six pack, but I fit into 34s with room to spare. And I am over 190lbs.
