At least that’s what it says on their Wikipedia entry. I like BFS, and the song in question (“Girl All the Bad Guys Want,” nominated in 2003 for “Best Pop Performance by a Group or Duo”) is pretty cool, above-average pop-punk. And the video is a hilarious send-up of Staind–click the link. I like its gently mocking tone, and I’ve always appreciated BFS’ sense of humor.
But still . . . a Grammy?!
Is there a back story to this? Was it some kinda fluke? Where they considered a joke nomination? I mean, what the hell?
. . . and this thread got not a single post.
I think the Grammies are the least respected major award show currently. Look at any year and you’ll see questionable nominations and wins. This past year, The Black Eyed Peas won a Grammy for “My Humps,” a song which many people will agree is catchy, but not that good of a song.
I smile when a band I like wins a Grammy, but I don’t put much stock into the award.
Hey, I’m still coping over Eminem winning an Oscar.
