waking up and actually getting out of bed question

I hate it, but somebody has to do it.

something messed up with the board… trying to insert the question here , instead of double-posting :

ok… that other sleep thread was very interesting…

so i thought i’d ask my sleep related question that’s been on my mind since i first woke up

i always ( well, very often) wake up groggy, as though i need another 12 hours of sleep. regardless of how long i really sleep… and 10 out of 10 times i’d rather go back to sleep (this is even if i have already slept for long hours, or if i’ve hardly slept)

it takes quite some time (say 30 mins) for me to be happily awake… after which it’s all ok… but that 30 mins. is really zomboid…

so, im not asking for ways on changing my sleep habits or how a lifestyle change could make me want to get up all excited about life…or how “you should try a hot bath when you get up”… i’m hoping there’s a quick-fix sure shot solution…

i’m asking:

as i understand, my state of mind when i just-wake-up can be chemically altered to make me all happy. does such a solution for this problem exist ? a pill, a syrup, something ? a solution with negligeable side effects is preferred, ofcourse.

ideal situation:

wake up groggy. groan. take pill. smile. get out of bed all excited. possible ?

Which begs the question…

i simulposted my own OP! haha this board gets cooler and weirder everyday…

i won’t get into the technical terms, but basically, if you wake up in the middle of a sleep cycle, you may be very tired, mentally. Try varying the lengths of your sleep to find what works for you…also, attempt to keep your sleep schedule the same from day to day.

There is a syrup that does what you want. It’s called “coffee”. You can get a coffee maker that makes coffee automatically at a pre-set time so you can have it ready right away when you get up.

That’d be the solution that works for me. I don’t even have to get dressed before the hot strong coffee hits my mouth and starts my brain kicking in.

Adrenaline usually does it for me. Usually of the “I have to get to my appointment in 45 minutes” type, though occasionally it’s of the “Turned on CNN and saw ‘breaking news’ and something exploding” type.

For any and all sleep-related issues, sleepnet is pretty good.

Not that I have any sleep probl…

Two words:

No-Doz.

I simply set my alarm radio to a station I absolutely hate, with the volume right up, and then position it across the room out of reach.

Every morning I leap energetically out of bed to conduct my then sole purpose in life… shutting the damn thing off!
