Joe Hurley is walking from Cape Cod, MA to Long Beach, CA along US Route 6. He just passed through northeastern PA this weekend. Give him a wave if he walks past and plenty of room if you’re driving by.
Cool! I grew up on Rte 6, and my mother always wanted to drive it from coast-to-coast. It used to connect to Long Beach, but at some point the CA DoT shortened it to Hayward(?), I think. I wonder what he’s going to do for those sections that have been co-opted by interstates? E.g., I-84 and Rte 6 share the same road in parts of CT.
