Walz & Vance Debate Follow-Along -- Tue, Oct 1, 2024, 8:00 PM CDT

Yes, Vance, we have those regulations in place.

Those regulations are called “Obamacare”.

At least if lying coherently and vehemently counts for taking a lead.

Unfortunately, it probably does.

It is more of an actual debate. They engage each other. They muted the mikes once so far.

They are doing really well with minding the time

Yep, all of us and “people of our ilk” are seeing Vance for the slimy scumbag that we already think of him as. The “low information voters” are unfortunately more susceptible to Vance’s bullshit and confidence, while Walz (as was alluded to earlier) is coming across generally more frantic yet passionate.

So we’re on to child care?

< Hitching up granny panties >

Can’t wait to find out where JD wants me to report for duty, as a childless dog lady.

When Walz said “You may work for a big company”, I immediately thought, “and you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile.”

mmm

Yes, but it is easier to win a debate if you lie.

“Snakeoil” keeps coming up in my mind.

What about the choice of fathers to stay home with the kids? Why (as if I didn’t know) is Vance talking as if only women do childcare?

Hell, I’m a childless cat guy, who is currently catless.

Vance is getting confusing here, talking about childcare.

Vance basically advocating for socialism to help fund childcare.

It almost sounded like Vance and Walz agreed on making paid child care available on a federal level.

Does he seriously think that penalizing other countries will cause them to give us money?

Right. Is that a revenue stream to hang a hat on?

“You can have a babysitter and Mexico will pay for it!”

Sounds familiar…

Walz is calling him on the tariffs-make-us-money theory!

You probably already know this, but Trump’s solution to child care was “tariffs”. He thinks that China will pay our child care expenses through tariffs. Vance is skirting the issue by saying we can “penalize other countries” to pay for child care. But tariffs is what he means. Which is batshit crazy.

What was the saying about Giuliani 20 years ago? “Noun, Verb, 9/11”?

Vance isn’t really trying to address any specifics, but there’s a lot of “Noun, Verb, Kamala Harris’s open borders” and “Noun, Verb, Democrats shipping jobs overseas” that I’m afraid is going to be effective soundbites.

Jan 6 time.

Yup. (And characters)
