Walz & Vance Debate Follow-Along -- Tue, Oct 1, 2024, 8:00 PM CDT

Vance: “I think we’re focused on the future.”

Does your boss know that?

Inflation caused Jan 6?

Vance not answering whether he’d allow the constitutional process of the election even if all 50 states certified.

Don’t look behind that curtain. Nothing to see here. Move along, move along…

How can Republicans continue to believe that other countries pay American tariffs? It’s Americans who pay the tariffs. This has been said over and over, yet Republicans refuse to believe it. Jeez, Louise!

“The threat of censorship?” That’s rich coming from the party of book bans.

“Let’s not bicker and argue about 'oo killed 'oo…”

Vance just said he’s proud to have the endorsement of Bobby Brainworms, Jr (and Tulsi Gabbard)? yikes.

Yes, yes, he did.

Okay, JD. Give us your definition of censorship, because I don’t think Harris is engaging in censorship at all.

Vance has a slobbermouth going, hand my man a tissue.

I’m sorry, what was the question Vance isn’t answering? I thought it was about January 6.

How are the imaginary 25 million illegal aliens buying houses by cleaning toilets and picking strawberries?

But Vance is sometimes making sense, and both are sometimes agreeing. Vance has to stick to trump insane ideas sometimes, but he is not doing terrible.

Walz is ahead by a field goal. Vance only gets crazy when he has to regurgitate trump talking points, and even then he tries to tone them down.

Deserts and chaparral without water or roads or infrastructure.

Yep.

I watched half an hour of the debate and that’s enough for me. I don’t see a clear winner. Vance is slightly smoother and more mendacious, but not in a way many voters would find egregious. Walz seems more passionate and is holding his end of the debate down well. He is slightly less smooth but more likeable. I may be biased since I like his points better.

This debate is not going to convince many people to change their vote, but it is refreshing because it is approaching what an actual debate looks like.

Tim is being too polite. I thought he needed to bring the anger, for the people out there.

I believe they call that “Minnesota nice”.

Whether as vice president he’d accept a lost election even if all 50 states had certified, or would refuse to do so and try to send it back to the states.

I agree. Trump voters don’t want polite. They want to see someone take some swings.

Isn’t that what the beard is for?

After all, Minnesota is really close to Canada.

The Big Lie again.
