Walz & Vance Debate Follow-Along -- Tue, Oct 1, 2024, 8:00 PM CDT

I think I’ve followed along for 97% of it (one quick run to the refrigerator) and I don’t remember hearing the phrase “Project 2025” brought up even once, obviously by Walz.

He mentioned it at least once.

Good! Walz mentioned FDR’s “All we have to fear is fear itself.” Trump wants to make Americans afraid, and Walz referenced that.

He brought it up. You must’ve been at the fridge.

Wow, Vance is still stuck on the idea that Kamala Harris has been president for the last 3 and 1/2 years.

Okay, vice president. But with all the powers of the presidency, apparently.

OK, good to know, thanks.

Again, the Harris administration is responsible for everything bad.

I don’t think there was a decisive winner in this debate. People are going to come away believing what they want to believe.

Still, a good showing by both candidates.

So how are you going to get money to those people who can’t afford heat and food, Vance?

Naw, JD, Canada is the most beautiful country in the world.

Happy joy opportunity.

Gloom doom broken.

Okay, nice civilized handshake caught on camera at the end.

I think it was a wash. No one will switch their vote based on this debate.

Walz and Vance both did fine.

Everybody now hug your wife –

No one shit the sheets, so yep, it’s a wash.

Seems like a draw to me. Neither one gained any clear advantage over the other. Walz came closest to landing a punch on the topic of January 6.

I’m just happy I didn’t have to run to the bathroom and vomit.

I hope nobody was expecting a race shifting moment.

Better anthem, much easier to sing.

Rachel Maddow : “JD Vance is going to have trouble backtracking on his claim tonight that he ‘never supported a national abortion ban’”.

Nicolle Wallace : “The moment of the night where it fell apart for Vance was at the end when he couldn’t admit that TFG lost in 2020”.
