Wanna Play some Super Duper Games?

I just found this site called http://superdupergames.org/ where you can play a bunch of obscure board games online, including the Icehouse game, Homeworlds.

The site uses a “play by email” system, which means you don’t have to be online at the same time as your opponent, and you have all the time you want to ponder what your next move will be. It’s pretty slow right now, so I hope some Dopers would like to check it out and perhaps play some Homeworlds (or any other game) with me. I’m “MatrixFrog” over there and “Aaron” is the creator/webmaster so let him know if you have any comments on the site design/programming/etc.

Registration is free and simple, and you won’t get any emails you don’t ask for.

Mods: The site is totally free. No one gets any money out of it. I don’t think this would count as spam, because it’s essentially the same as “Check out this cool flash game” threads, yes?

Dude, word of advice: I know the site is free and open and all that, but you may be inviting the wrath of Mod by essentially advertising for it, so consider checking with them first in the future?

Is it possible that you are hoping someone like me will show up and you’ll finally have someone you can easily beat in Homeworlds? :frowning:

Ideally, you want an opponent that you have a chance of beating, but you’re not certain you can. In other words, someone not much better than you, but not much worse than you either. In either extreme, the game is boring because you essentially know what will happen.
