Want to know more about the Half Blood Prince?

Okay I did a search and didn’t see this anywhere so here goes.

According to the newspaper yesterday if you go to Rowling’s website and do some of the puzzles there are bits of the Half Blood Prince put up to be found.

I haven’t done it yet myself (keep getting dis… ooo shiny… pretty…) but I figured those who are curious might want to know.

I saw a little new item about this in my newspaper too and it did seem very clear that there was hidden stuff about book six. But when I went to the site, I didn’t see anything at all new - other than a couple of news items - from what was there (and hidden) back in June. The four puzzles let you see some neat stuff, but it’s not related to the new book. There was a whole thread back in June about those puzzles. The only other “new” thing I’m seeing is that where the door was open a month or so ago (when the new title was revealed), now it’s locked again with a “do not disturb” sign back on it.

So, either I’m missing something (very possible) or the newspapers have got it wrong - and the "hidden stuff’ is what was there all along and not something new. Maybe there are more than four puzzles? Or maybe the newspapers are just now picking up the story that her new Web site is pretty cool and has hidden stuff…?

Two sentences. That’s all you get for now.

I smell Gryffindor.

Hmm. Well that’s more than my newspaper reported -thanks for the info. But now I’m even more curious. What code? Where? Was it there all along or was it something she added recently? Is it still there? I just went through the site again and still can’t find anything (not a surprise - I’ve never been good at that kind of thing).

If you click the hair scrunchie on the main site, you go to a room with a door. Right now the door will not open, but every once in a while it does and then you solve a puzzle to get whatever Rowlings has decided to give out. (The puzzles behind the door are obnoixous and thus far can only be solved by trial and error, so I’d recommend doing a web search to find the solution someone else has figured out. Also, if you stay at the page long enough Peeves the ghost will stop by.) First it was the title of the next book, then it was those lines.
