Whoa! There’s a new co-op zone!?
To anyone who missed the news; Issue 12 is Live !
And I got my six free extra slots.
Man, I almost want to get back into CoH (CoV never really did it for me for some reason,) but 1) Can I afford $15/month? (yes, money is that tight right now) and 2) I would be so lost with all this new shit. Hell, I never even got a character to high enough level to make one of those alien characters (I can’t even remember the names of them now.)
I assume that after almost three years my characters would not still be stored on the servers?
Check Paragonwiki.com, or simply post ‘Whats’s new, returning player’ on the CoX forums.
They should be there. If they were low level ( under 6 ? ) they may have had their names taken by someone else ( you’ll get the chance to pick a new one ), but the characters themselves should still be there.
I might have had a couple low level ones, but if so, I wouldn’t care about them. And bases? Inventions? So many new power-sets, and customizations?
And I can do some sort of “flashback” system to do missions designed for levels I already passed? Oh man, and the BADGES! I was a badge FIEND! I know it doesn’t matter if I get them, but damn, I can’t help myself from killing 100 of X villain, or exploring all over just to get the badges.
Actually it does matter, since you can get accolade powers and unlock costume parts and custom weapons ( like the new high level Rularuu weapons, some of which have moving eyes in them :eek: ).
Oh, well that just makes it worse! I had a lot, too (at least on my main character, a lvl…30-something tanker…I think she’s 30-something.) But I do remember that when I looked at other character’s profiles, that almost always had less than I did…because I spent hours killing 100 Skulls, and waiting for big monster to appear rather than do missions and level up. 
And accolade powers? These are the powers like what you get when you finished some Taskforce missions? Like the Crey pistol? And is it based on specific badges, a number of badges? Cause I had a lot of it would be cool if it was pure amount and retroactive. 
The ‘waiting for the monster’ stuff at least is easier now; they just added an events channel that has alerts for stuff like Troll raves, Paladin being built, Rikti invasions, etc.
Yes, like the Crey Pistol. You get them generally by collecting a specific bunch of badges. For example, get the three badges for beating 100 invading Rikti, a certain number of Rikti Heavy Armor Suits ( known as ‘heavies’ ), and a certain number of Rikti Bombs and you get the Watchman/Watchwoman badge, and the Elusive Mind accolade. Which is a short duration psi shield. Plus, you unlock Rikti weapons like axes and swords for those that can use them.
You know, we can give you a ‘welcome back’ test code for the game. It’d last 14 days or so.

Waaaant it?
Not just any missions but entire story arcs. The introductory arc for these missions take you to Outbreak and it’s populated by lots of Contaminiated, making getting the Isolator badge so much eaiser!
Pfft, I already HAVE that one. Trust me, as soon as they started badges I made sure all my new characters got that one while they could.
So I guess I do have a couple chars that I got above level 20 I might still want to play that don’t have it…

Alright, so I’m going to give CoH another chance. Well…ok, not so much another chance, since I know I like it, but I’m going to re-up for a month and see if I am scared away by all the new stuff or not.

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned here, and I don’t feel like searching 15 pages to find out, but NCsoft is working toward allowing users to create their own content. And probably more power proliferation in future issues.

Got Brian from 45 to just shy of 48.
I got JB from 23 to 27, with very sporadic playing. Could have made 28 easily if we hadn’t lost power here Saturday.
With only playing for a few hours Saturday, and a fair amount on Sunday, I got my old main character from 35 to almost 38 (and I got her to 38 tonight.)
