Wonder Woman is the Comic Book that should be made into a feature-length movie, as long as the actress protrays her correctly and there is a good script.
The WW fans love her, she is marketable(film merchandizing), she is known and recognizable, even if you do not read the Comic Book.
It would be someone else, instead of Supes or Bats.
The Silver Surfer.
I would love to see it done with a nostalgic 70’s rock soundtrack and live action combined with computer graphics.
Have the story where he goes up against Thanos.
I’m in line now.
I’m still waiting for that Watchmen movie, but I’m so certain they’d screw it up, I dare not hope.
Another Swamp Thing movie could be made, and I imagine a mystical subject like Doctor Fate is doable, as long as it doesn’t end up looking like that awful Dungeons and Dragons flick.
How about 'Mazing Man? Remember that one? He didn’t have any powers, he was kind of crazy and decided to become a superhero after finding a helmet-like thing in a dumpster. It could be good.
There’s a hero noted in one of the sourcebooks for the sadly out-of-print and non-sadly kickass Marvel Superheroes rpg, named Mr. Immortal.
Mr. Immortal’s only superpower is, each time he is killed, he comes back, perfectly healthy, a short while later. So he blithely throws himself into impossibly dangerous situations, unconcerned about dying because dying is what he does best.
The Dark Knight Returns should be made into a film, the more faithful to the book the better. Brian Dennehy as Bruce Wayne/Batman, John Malkovich as The Joker. Phil Collins’ “Land of Confusion” (title?) on the soundtrack.
The Green Lantern. Modify the story from the Reign of the Supermen multi-title arc from a few years ago in which Coast City is destroyed and Hal goes nuts, wacks every Lantern he finds, and takes their power rings in a failed attempt to bring his city and its 7,000,000+ citizens back to life. With tre right actor and script, this could be a great story. I would lose the whole “Superman is dead” bits, though.
You’d have a story about a hero who has the most powerful weapons in the universe and he still can’t save the people he is sworn to protect.
And so this isn’t a total hijack:
I agree with Bryan Ekers on the Dr. Fate suggestion. I’ve never read anything with the character other than J.M. DeMatteis’ series, but I thought the first few issues of that were just brilliant and would make a great movie.
Also: The Shadow, if they pretended like the first movie was never made (I already have), and instead based it on the Helfer/Baker series.
