Wasn't there supposed to be a plan in the first 30 days to defeat ISIS? So where's the plan?

His promise was to have a plan to defeat ISIS. Not just a plan on how to continue fighting them, like every President would obviously have–hell, just like Obama already had.

Please don’t do propaganda work for Trump. When he lies, don’t try to spin it into the truth. Don’t try to make people out as “petty” for holding people to their promises.

You’re supposed to be libertarian. Stop defending an authoritarian.

We’re not getting a plan on how to defeat ISIS.
We’re not even getting a plan on how to keep fighting ISIS.
We’re getting a list of options on how best to keep fighting ISIS.

So much for the claim that only immigrants are willing to do the jobs Americans won’t do.

Just too complicated for the proles, eh?

[QUOTE=George Orwell]
There was, as Squealer was never tired of explaining, endless work in the supervision and organisation of the farm. Much of this work was of a kind that the other animals were too ignorant to understand. For example, Squealer told them that the pigs had to expend enormous labours every day upon mysterious things called “files,” “reports,” “minutes,” and “memoranda.” These were large sheets of paper which had to be closely covered with writing, and as soon as they were so covered, they were burnt in the furnace. This was of the highest importance for the welfare of the farm, Squealer said.

Based on recent reporting about the fighting in Iraq against ISIS, I get the sense that American forces on the ground are getting more involved with the fighting whereas their function previously was to act in an advisory and backup capacity to the main Iraqi fighting force.

I think that’s the extent of Trump’s administration contribution to defeating ISIS; put American soldiers closer to the fight and in harm’s way.

Wow. Framed for “Suck-Up Chauvinist of the Year” award. Even for you, JM, this is deep brown nose territory.

Eh. Outragers gotta be outraged. He asked for a plan, he’s getting one. With all the genuine things to be outrage about, this seems down at the bottom of the list.

I despise Trump with the heat of 1,000 suns. If you want to rag on me for not despising him with the heat of 10,000 suns, go ahead.

No-one doubts your commitment to Sparkle Motion, JM.

It’s just that from time to time, you’re a contrarian old crank.

Once again: No, he is not getting a plan on how to defeat ISIS.
He is getting a list of options(that would be two or more different plans) on how best to keep fighting ISIS.

Turns out, it’s a bigger problem than anyone thought.

‘Anyone’ being Trump.

[nitpick]
Actually that claim is true. If S is the set of jobs that Americans won’t do, then clearly only immigrants will only do the jobs in S.
[/nitpick]

Having dispensed with the nitpick, we’ll take it as read that you meant “so much for the claim that Americans aren’t willing to take on the jobs that immigrants have been doing.”

Potayto/Potahto.

You guys are holding Trump to an impossibly high standard. Nixon promised he had a secret plan for ending the Vietnam War when he ran for President in 1968 and he didn’t use it until his second term.

Nearly a half-century later, it still boggles me that people didn’t just laugh at that ‘secret plan to end the war’ nonsense.

Of course, it also boggles my mind that Trump is President right now, that enough people voted for him just a few months ago to make that happen. So I guess my mind is just easily boggled. I’m probably the guy standing next to Dylan in “Day of the Locusts.”

And John Mace was right: we’re getting a plan. Ask, and I shall receive.

You mean getting his plan to the generals, right? The ones he knows more about ISIS than?

Well, yeah, that was dumb-ass item #4,532 that Trump said during the campaign. But who’s counting?

From that article:

So, anyone here want to lay claim that this is within a hundred miles of what he promised would happen?

Nobody is counting-It just happens to be the topic of this particular thread. You are certainly welcome to start threads on any of the other 4,531 more important things he has fucked up.

nm - misread John Mace. mea culpa.

7,345. John, you can’t take naps when counting Trump dumb. Granted, precision is pointless, but still!
