However, there are only a couple items really worth getting anyway. What they may not explain well is that you really need to use those Requisitions as soon as you can get them, because the items don’t scale for long.
Indeed. I think I went with the bladed weapon, whatever it was called, and the little umbrella that increased water capacity. The weapon was obsolete very quickly, and the umbrella was obsolete as soon as I left Arizona (you don’t need water in LA; the canteen meter disappears entirely.).
I thought the No Mutants Allowed bar in Damonta was a nice touch.
NMA is a message board community that has been around since Fallout 1 came out. NMA, the Unwashed Village (a message board community I moderate, though, we’re mostly dead at this point), and The Order (another message board community which I think is defunct now and no doubt from where the unique weapon in the NMA bar gets its name) roughly all came into being at the same time. There were many members of each that at various points were regulars at the other boards as well.
All the dead in that bar are posters and admins of the NMA community. The Unwashed Village got a similar nod in Fallout 2 where they showed up in a random encounter.
Those cowboys at the entrance to the temple of Titan sure have a sweet racket going on.
I spent like 600 scrap buying new clothes for my rangers. Echo one has changed it’s handle to The 4 amigos!
Very forgiving them, seeing as how NMA was where Fergus Urquhart was referred to as Fergus Imatwat. I agreed with the group’s disappointment with the lackluster support for the Fallout franchise, but I was repelled at the vicious hate they displayed. Of course, the internet in general has only gotten worse, so I suppose I should be nostalgic for the age when the worst you could expect from group of fans was to be a bunch of insufferable shitheads with a sense of entitlement. I mean, I don’t even recall any overt racism, or rape and death threats. But I haven’t visited in a while.
I know one of their members (by the handle of Brother None, who was also in the UV for a while and has alternately gone by the handle Kharn on other boards as well) was hired by inXile to assist with marketing, publicity, and customer support.
BTW, why is that…
since Rose and Lexicanum both have cybernetic implants that the words “Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!” from the Serenity movie keep running through my head? I mean, considering the doctor that gave it to Rose shows up in the Temple of Titan making the crazy Mushroom Clouders “improved” and for some reason refuses to operate on Rangers. It’s not exactly subtle that something ain’t just right here.
That I actually didn’t see coming. I expected that the hints about a problem with these faulty power supplies exploding out of people’s chests to be the catch in the end. Instead there was some hint that it was still a worry for Bihn.
Is there anyone in California that pays extra for broken weapon parts, or do I just sell them to any merchant?
Not that I’ve found.
So I should sell all my parts before moving on to Cali, right?
What about all those robot parts? Is there a special merchant for them? Damn things are heavy.
Robot parts are junk. Except for that Tx##-whatever track you use on the broken robot in front of The Prison. There will be plenty of robot parts in your near future if you miss them.
All owners of the game got a free Director’s Cut version today.
It’s a separate install on steam. I doubt save games carry over because of the new systems, so you’ll probably have to start another run.
ETA…never mind. It’s in a different link in Steam. Didn’t even notice.
I’ve started a new game and put a few hours into it. It looks nice. The new perks/quirks system add some more character flavor which is really nice - one of the biggest components to a game like this is feeling like the characters are really unique.
The extra voice acting I don’t care about. I prefer to read dialogue text anyway since it’s much faster, so I almost always end up skipping voice acting.
I haven’t gotten too deep into the game yet, but it sounds like weapon balance may be a tiny bit better (and energy weapons make more sense now) but it still sounds like assault rifles rule everything.
Haven’t experimented with the new precision strikes system. Enemies die so fast that it’s not really worth doing specific damage to them, although perhaps I should be using some sort of leg injury slowing to the zombies at Ag Center if that’s an option. Later with tough robots it may come into play.
I’ve heard there’s a nasty bug where your companions can disappear when you dismiss them. They fixed the bug like 10 days ago, but they intend to release patches simultaneously on all platforms and because consoles require you to pay to patch your game, they’re waiting and adding more stuff to the patch before pushing it out, even though they’re sitting on a game-breaking bug. That’s obnoxious for so many reasons.
Disparnumerophobia.
Disparnumerophobia
This is the most powerful perk in the game far. Only a few specialized options can match it. Juts level your characters only when you’ve got enough to jump to level 2, and then 4, 6, etc.
I believe it will, and it may even out some of the weapon options as well. Rifles and sniper characters are great, but not necessarily “the best” anymore. In fact, I’ve had surprisingly good results from melee, whereas it used to be somewhat irritating. The perks also add a lot of fun to customizing your characters. It’s not incredibly important, but it’s a nice little edge. Some of them can be extremely potent if you get lucky or build a good combination.
