By the way, would anyone like to start a petition or something that would enforce a ban to keep Oscar-winners from thanking people during their speeches? I mean, why not say something interesting, for crying out loud? You’re supposed to be creative people, how 'bout something insightful and witty about movies or writing or SOMETHING! Anything but a long and rambling list of names that nobody cares about. It should be stipulated that, yes, we get it: you love everyone you worked with, they were the best team in the world, you’d work with all of them again in a hearbeat, your agents are amazing, your kids, your spouse, your parents, they all supported you and told you to never give up your dream. We understand. (By the way, where are all the parents who ARE telling their kids to maybe give up on those dreams before it’s too late?)
The Blake Edwards schtick , very cute. Carrey, not so much.
LOTR won… I liked POTC’s skeletons, though. I found them more attractive than the real actors.
