Watchguard mobile vpn

So after I backed up my computer I was given a loaner. The IT people set it up at school, and it worked. Now, at home, when I try to use the VPN I get the message that Watchguard mobile vpn cannot resolve domain name. Can I fix this at home, or is it something that IT has to do?

When you say it worked at school, do you mean they tested the VPN there? Or just that it connected to the local network at school?

Good point. But they did use the vpn to log in at school, although they could have just accessed the server directly.

So, I just figured out that the new computer was not connected to my home wireless network. I did not even consider that because I received no prompt. And of course the old computer just connected automatically. It now works just fine.

Great! Glad it’s up for you! You fixed it during my drive home!

Heh. We have an interesting problem with Watchguard. When you import a VPN profile, it asks you for your credentials. If you enter them, it will remember them forever. So when you change your password or username on the remote network, it fails. The solution is to just click Next when the import process prompts for your credentials.

Doesn’t sound very secure, either!

We use the SonicWall SSL VPN and I’m really happy with it.
