If a person looks for a long enough time at the Straight Dope Message Board, (in the Last Post column), would the person see the subject of the post ,change to the newest one?
In other words, would a person looking at the current post subject line, see it change to the newest subject?
I think this is asking if the pages refresh on their own.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an auto-refresh here. You either have to click “refresh” from your browser, or sometimes it refreshes once you go back from another page.
IME, the forum pages refresh when you go “back” from reading a thread, but the front page does not. The only way to update this page is to exit and come back in, or click on the refresh button.
I have a suggestion. Try it and let us know. Just get up and go to the bathroom and see if it’s new when you come back. (I would try it too, but I’m posting from the library and when I leave someone else will commandeer the machine.)
