I will leave you all with this. Admitting the Bible is really the word of God will send us back to the Middle Ages or even ancient times. You do not have to be afraid of that and pretend you are not convinced by evidence of tremendous Biblical scientific accuracy and historical confirmation.

If you can’t argue with people, if you can’t answer their questions, you’re wasting your time and theirs. Especially if all you can do is complain about how stubborn they are for not immediately accepting your word.

Do you think door-to-door Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses crack at the first sign of opposition and walk away complaining? Because I don’t see any evidence that missionaries and proselytizers in general are put off by ‘stubborn people’. Of course, they do tend to be trained in how to handle these things.

WRONG!!! My witnessing was not degenerating in the slightest. Songs are also important to the spread of Christianity as one has to have some good emotional feeling in addition to pure truth of God’s existence.

I’ll agree, in so far as it never really started. See Chimera’s post for examples of groups who know how to do it.

In the '70s I lived blocks away from Wheaton College, alma mater of Billy Graham, theologian Bart Ehrman, and director Wes Craven (Nightmare on Elm Street and some porn–when a kid from Wheaton falls he falls hard), and I learned what rookies sound like and their limitations.
