I remember back after JEDI came out that Kenner released a Star Wars figure called Prune Face. I’ve recognized every figure that Kenner ever made except this one. So where in the flaming hell is Prune Face? Which movie is he in, and where is he?
Isn’t that a Dick Tracy character?
Pruneface was indeed a Dick Tracy character. There may have been a mixup in whatever list you were looking at.
Pruneface is one of the aliens on Jabba’s Sail Barge in Return of the Jedi. He doesn’t really feature much - indeed, he may not actually be seen on film at all.
He has a patch over one eye, and has a kind of flat ET-shaped head.
Along these lines, I swear that the first time I saw Star Wars IV:ANH (as a kid, in the theater), I saw one of the creatures in the Cantina pour a drink into the top of his head (like his mouth was on the top of his head). However, I have never seen this again; I think I’ve even watched a “letterbox” version of the movie and not seen it.
So am I crazy, was I seeing things as a kid, or am I just missing it when I re-watch the movie?
Prune Face might be a reference to one of the two advisors (Imperial Council members?) Palpatine was traveling with. Remember those guys dressed in black that got off the shuttle w/ him and were in his throne room for a brief period of time? They were old and wrinkly, so you never know…
Here’s a picture. Looks like GuanoLad said, but I’m pretty sure this species shows up in the Rebel ready room with Admiral Ackbar & co., as well as the final celebration on Endor (but only briefly for both).
That was an alien played by Harvey Korman in the wretched Star Wars Holiday Special. Bea Arthur played the bartender, whom he was in love with.

You may be right, but then you may also be thinking of the Nien Nunb characters. (I don’t know the canonical names of the races of the SW characters, unfortunately)
Prune Face is now known by the name “Barada”, for the Star Wars Collectable Card Game. If I recall correctly, he is part of the Klaatu species.
(It gets worse… the card game also refers to another species as “Nikto”).
I’m sure that this name didn’t exist at the time the original “Prune Face” toy was released.
Oh, and Nien Nunb was a Sullustan.
And after checking the Star Wars Encyclopedia, I must admit that I was wrong. Prune Face’s real name is Orrimaarko, a Dresselian. Apparently, he was given comman of a Spec-Force team by the Rebel Alliance.
Live and learn.
Klaatu have funny wrinkles round their eyes.
Barada look like bulldogs.
Nikto have no noses.
And yes, they had those names during production of the movie.
During the briefing for the second death star there is a prne face or two in the crowd of rebels. I believe they are a bit to the right of the droid in the middle of the crowd. If you blink, you’ll miss them.
Remember that for many of the aliens, Kenner was working from production photos and not just looking at the movie to find candidates. Aliens used to sell well, so they looked for interesting-looking aliens to make, regardless of how much they featured in the movie.
Many Bothans died to bring us this information.
By the time Prune Face was released, there already was a Barada figure.
Of course, if you really want to get into snafus, it appears that since the Kenner figures originally came out, the characters Zuckuss and 4-LOM have switched names.
Actually that’s a different alien. Among the skiff guards are Klaatu, Barada, and Nikto. Some of those may or may not be races and/or names. I believe those names first showed up when Kenner was making toys of those aliens.
The Prune Face alien is from a different scene (though there may be one in Jabba’s Palace). He has been given the name Orrinmaarko (or something to that effect) from the West End Star Wars game.
Yes, I know too much. I collect the figures.
I thought that Klaatu, Barada, and Nikto were bounty hunters seen during the bounty hunting debriefing. You know, “NO disintigration!”.
Are you guys joking about Klaatu, etc., in the collectors cards? I’m irony impaired today. . . unless those were still actually the three taun-tauns seen in the background in Empire Strikes Back as Han grabs Leia and says, “Gimmee some sugar, baby”? Is there somewhere a person with a sense of humor in the Kenner department?
capybara, for more information on Klaatu, Berada and Nikto, I’d suggest doing a search on this site. Those words are not originally from Evil Dead 2. They’re originally from the classic “The Day the Earth Stood Still”. They were the words that needed to be uttered to stop the robot from destroying the earth. The main character forgot them at the end. Lucas named three bounty hunters (at least I think it was some of the superfluous bounty hunters in TESB, SPOOFE will most likely come in with the correct, final word) in hommage to TDTESS. They were later picked up by the writers of Evil Dead 2.
Klaatu, Barada, and Nikto are guards on Jabba’s skiff. I am not certain if they are the names of races or individuals. The names orignally came from The Day The Earth Stood Still and were thrown in as a joke/homage.
You can see action figure version of them here:

The bounty hunters in ESB can be seen here:

And are, from left to right (not counting Vader): Dengar, IG-88, Boba Fett, Bossk, 4-LOM, and Zuckass.
Regarding Zuckass/4-LOM, Kenner originally messed up the names of those two characters back when they first did action figures of them. The current way is the correct way.
Prune Face, as I said, can be seen in the rebel briefing scene in ROTJ. His action figure is here:

Hope this helps. I’ll be starting an “Ask the Star Wars Fan” thread soon
You are correct, sir! As Legomancer already pointed out, the three were names of random Jabba guards (except “Nikto” was the name of the species that “Klaatu” belonged to). The Bounty Hunters were named IG-88, Zuckuss, 4-LOM, Dengar, Bossk… and, of course, our dear Mr. Fett.
